We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kelly Ann Gorman. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kelly Ann below.
Kelly Ann, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
What do I think it takes to be successful? I think you need to wake up with that fire, that passion, and the purpose to help others. It doesn’t matter what business you are in. You need to wake up wanting more. If you don’t have the feeling of wanting more, doing more, and serving more that is when you know it is time to switch things up. Success to me is doing what I love. Knowing I am making an impact in someone else’s life or business. There is truly nothing better than getting messages from random strangers telling me that my book, a post, or a podcast episode has changed them in some kind of way. If you focus on doing what you love and put in the work the money will always follow.
Kelly Ann, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
A little bit about me. I’m a Seasoned Podcaster, Author, Personal Growth and Business Development Expert. Overall, a Multi-Passionate Entrepreneur here to help you level up and turn your dreams into a profitable reality.
I am extremely passionate about getting you organized to become the most productive version of yourself. Personally, and professionally.
I create programs, products, and services that elevate your mind, make you feel good in your body, upgrade your business, and enhance your life. All while saving you time, money, and energy. Productivity is the name of my game and something I can tell you with extreme confidence, I am very good at! I feel like I have always had this in me. So, it just makes sense to provide you with the best strategies that work.
In 2016, I was diagnosed with MS and in 2017 I was diagnosed with an extremely rare autoimmune disease called NMO. I quickly learned that becoming an advocate for your own health and rights would be a full-time job and knew I needed to use my voice and create a platform for others to come to, be heard and learn more.
That is when The Happy Workaholic Podcast was born. A show focused on Business, LinkedIn, and Life with an Autoimmune Disease. Three things I knew best!
Once I launched my first episode I was sought out by other women in the online space, business owners, and entrepreneurs to do the same. Develop and produce inspiring and impactful shows for their own audiences that would create a global community as well as expand their brands.
In 2019 I found out that I was misdiagnosed with both diseases. Not only did I have to change my way of everyday thinking and living life, but I also had to learn medical malpractice laws.
I then represented myself in not one, but six medical malpractice legal cases as no firm (over 100) would take my case. The reasons being I was still alive, not missing a limb, or hooked up to machines.
I followed all legal protocols and closed six cases in eighteen months, without going to trial, while continuously helping thousands of patients through interviews, my podcast, YouTube Channel, and multiple social media platforms. I shared my story from day one, never gave up, and continue to help others through my personal growth and business development programs. This is why I always say things happen for you no to you. I mean I wish I didn’t go through any of those chemo sessions or have to take all those prescription meds but after starting a healing journey and realizing I can handle absolutely anything thrown my way, I know my purpose is to help others in more ways than I knew I ever could before.
In the middle of the pandemic, I put my head down and got to work. I was determined to use all my life experiences and turn them into something positive to help others. My one-of-a-kind publication, Everything is Messy was released in the Fall of 2020. A book filled with personal development, life lessons, real solutions, budget friendly vegan recipes, and proof that anything is possible when following the right formula. The rebranding of my business, show, and life was next. Can you say post traumatic growth?
I knew I was destined for something new. Something that could help more women. I knew that being dealt these cards were to teach me something and allow me to grow and go down a new path of healing and wellness. A new road that others could also go down with me and experience. Once that would enhance them in all aspects of their lives.
My morning and evening routines are very sacred to me. My belief is that you need to do the work first to become the best version of yourself to help others level up and do the same. If this resonates with you then you and I are a lot alike.
I’m obsessed with cooking up delicious (and easy) healthy recipes, enjoying a very crispy diet coke (because balance), and all things personal growth, productivity, business, podcasting, and wellness as you may have seen all over my social channels.
Taking a more personal approach to business and wellness is how I roll. I bring my enthusiasm, utilize my expertise, exceptional organizational skills, and creative background to help you enjoy more out of life. I do this through the Kelly Ann Cares Podcast, Everything is Messy Book, Podcast Development, Personal Growth and Business Consulting Experiences, and most recently with Coloring Collins.
Inspiration, motivation, determination, and a never-give-up attitude are what got me to where I am today. I love the work I get to do every day and want you to feel the same.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I learned that I could become blind and paralyzed from the autoimmune disease I was diagnosed with I knew that I would have my voice to make money and survive so I launched a podcast. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I taught myself everything I know. That one decision to start turned into a business of podcast development. I have been hosting the Kelly Ann Cares Podcast since 2017 and writing, producing, and developing shows for clients since then as well.
When I first found out I was “sick” I had to close the doors on my Luxury Travel Business in Las Vegas and bring all my business experience to the internet. I would coach clients and consult with brands online.
When the pandemic happened I jumped in head first to help brands make money during the craziest times in our lives. I already knew what it was like to loose everything and have to pivot without any given notice, plan, or promise ahead.
I ended up developing nine podcasts for clients during that time. We took everything from their brand and turned it into a podcast to still help other customers or clients but also have a way to monetize during a time where everyone was online. This is when the podcasting space really changed, especially in the ad space.
