We recently connected with Kelli Jones and have shared our conversation below.

Kelli, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Your ability to build a team is often a key determinant of your success as a business owner and so we’d love to get a conversation going with successful entrepreneurs like yourself around what your recruiting process was like -especially early on. How did you build your team?

Building a team has been pivotable to my success. I had went through a lot of people. If I start today I would hire people in the exact filed I need them in. For example if you need a product photographer get a product photographer not a wedding photographer or lifestyle. It really makes a huge difference and will save you a ton of time and money. Do your research and get the person that’s best for that job.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I started at the age of 12 want ironically doings nails. That was short lived I then started braiding and that’s where I fell in love with styling. Straight out of high school I went to hair school. My career has flourished since. Every week is different Some days, I’m the salon whipping up chic short and long hairstyles, and some days she is on set for a film, TV, or theatre gig as a union stylist. A year before graduating high school. I got custody of my 2 nieces 7 and 5 at the time. I built a life for them all while still following my dreams. I’m a true believer that your life is what you make it.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

I built my social media by being authentic and consistent.
