We were lucky to catch up with Keisha Bogard recently and have shared our conversation below.
Keisha , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
For starters, I want people to experience the kindness and love of God through encounters with me and/or my brand. I desire for people to want to get to know Jesus Christ because they’ve seen a special aura in/through me—the light of Christ. Second, I want people to know that to love my family, period. I love spending time with my family, creating core memories for my toddler daughter because she gets to see life through the things her father and I manifest, as a direct result of what God purposes in our lives. Finally, I want people to know that the platform Beauty Locker is an organization created to simply be a safe haven and well of valuable resources, especially for black and brown women!

Keisha , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m most proud that even though I have been discouraged and felt unsupported at times, I have never given up. I’m grateful for those that I have been able to meet as a result in believing in my vision. Though I have visualized and dreamed of this platform, Beauty Locker x (by) KLB has been officially launched for three years, and beautiful things have happened so far. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for the future!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
In my opinion, building an online social media presence is a very tall order, and I haven’t mastered it, yet, honestly! You are competing with a number is different vices—time, algorithm, and evolution. Time moves fast, and we do not all have time to figure out master marketing strategies. Algorithms support advertising so you can be highly affected by this if you are not contributing to selling something. “Sell something or be sold”.—Grant Cardone Technology evolves quickly so having an experienced team is probably very effective and efficient, but not everyone can afford this. All of this to say, do the BEST that you can and as OFTEN as you feel fits your life structure for your brand, and see what God can do for you—what God has for you, no man or woman can take away.
