We caught up with the brilliant and insightful KeDrick Mallett a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

KeDrick, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

I vividly recall racing around my home at 8 or 9, bursting with excitement, confidently proclaiming that I would become wealthy and be the catalyst for positive change in my family’s life. Throughout my childhood, strangers in various places would approach me, expressing a sense that I was destined for something extraordinary that would impact those around me. Even earlier, my aunts would insist that I’ve walked this path before. I didn’t consciously choose the person I’m becoming; it seems to have chosen me. God has always showed me that.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I am Ke’Drick Mallett, a professional with roots in Pine Bluff Arkansas, currently engaged in the dynamic landscape of the music industry. My journey has been characterized by a multifaceted exploration of roles—from active participation in bands to contributing vocals in a small group, and even venturing into the realm of rap. These diverse experiences have equipped me with a nuanced understanding, enabling me to provide valuable perspectives and counsel to others.

The genesis of my entrepreneurial endeavors took shape following the profound loss of my mother in 2011. In response to this poignant moment, I founded Lo’Rraine Records, an entity dedicated to honoring her memory and our shared passion for music.

Since its establishment in 2016, Lo’Rraine Records has forged impactful partnerships with esteemed entities such as Beyond Pristine, T-Mobile, Cricket Wireless, Mediatech, Dallas Independent School District, YMCA, and The Boys and Girls Club. Our media engagement extends to collaborative efforts with local news stations for insightful interviews on production outlets.

The inception of The StandUP organization, inspired by our single “StandUp,” serves a noble purpose—aiding individuals in transcending from poverty to wealth, fostering productivity, and promoting active community participation. Our corporate portfolio includes “Grandiose Services”, a development company dedicated to providing tailored services aimed to boosting brand growth.

My academic pursuits culminated in the attainment of an Associates Degree from Mediatech Institute in Dallas, Texas, in 2022. What distinguishes me is my unwavering commitment to resilience, navigating a spectrum of experiences and challenges. This journey is fueled by a strong belief that bigger things are ahead, driven by my determination to make positive changes. I credit God for guiding me along this path with unwavering faith.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

I am motivated by the chance to assist others, a value instilled in me by my parents. Our aspiration is to establish our own school, with the ultimate mission of demonstrating that anyone, regardless of their life circumstances or scale, can achieve success.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

I came to understand that a “no” is simply a “yes” in a different guise. It’s not the denial that hinders; it’s your perspective. A “no” is nothing but a guide to your “yes.”.

Despite the visible accomplishments, numerous setbacks and obstacles, including various rejections and unforeseen events, occurred over time, necessitating adjustments that eventually opened the door to exciting opportunities for redirection.
