We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kayla Petrasek a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kayla, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. One thing we always find fascinating is how differently entrepreneurs think about revenue growth and cost reductions – both can be powerful ways to improve profitability. What do you spend more of your time and energy on?
When it comes to the big question of “grow revenue or cut costs” theres a lot to consider.
In terms of Aesthetic practices, this is a questions that can come up a lot. Do we hire a team for marketing to grow revenue that we need or do we cut costs and go without? Do we put the money out to buy a new device to offer our clients more treatments or do we cut costs and wait? Do we put the money out to renovate our space or do we wait another year or two?
When it comes to these big decisions its always best to weigh out the pros and cons while staying in the right mindset, a growth mindset.
We have to consider staying in business and not driving ourselves to bankruptcy while also leaving room to actually scale your business to new levels. This comes down to numbers and a bit of risk. Do the math and see how much wiggle room you have to take a risk and open up the door to growth.
There is never an opportunity to grow without any risk, so we need to get a bit uncomfortable and be open to that. When we do this, we shift our mindset and our energy and our outcomes. If we never go for the big dreams that drive us, we simply wont have them. so, its up to you, your life and your future.

When it comes to digital marketing, it is the future of sales. In a world of ever growing technology, the way and place we do business is superiorly online. Instead of going to Google to look for a business, millenials are often going straight to Instagram. What is your first impression from your Instagram profile? Would it draw you enough to call?
As a consumer and business woman outside of the marketing world, i wish i knew the power and important of marketing much earlier on. Knowing what i know now about how to digitally promote a business, i wish i could how used these resources years ago to accelerate my career much faster. We can only go off what we know, so my advice to any aesthetic clinics out there not currently taking advantage of marketing and social media, just do it. Try it out at least with a reputable company and just give it a shot so you can make an informed decision on whats best for your business. If you do it right, i guarantee 10/10 you’ll make a least 2x your money back spent on marketing to get more business through the door and thats just the start.
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
I started my business as a passion, a side hustle because i saw a need in the industry. I was always a person who was very active on social media and always thinking of creative ideas, so that came naturally. I started helping a clinic struggling during covid to get any business through the door. I noticed she had a very inactive instagram account so i offered to help. Three months later her sales doubled and everyone was noticing her online presence. It was game changer for her business and all it took was a bit of creative juices, passion and determination.
