Alright, Katie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.

The question I am asked most often, “How did you come to healing work? How did you start your journey in energy medicine? How did you find out you had this magic superpower?” The defining moment came while standing at the bedside of a hospice patient. Her family hired a Healing Touch Practitioner to support her through the transition of end-of-life. I watched as the practitioner, Denise, moved her arms around the patient’s body while I observed the patient’s respirations deepen and a look of deep peace come over her face.

The defining moment came when the practitioner asked me, “Are you familiar with Healing Touch?” I quickly replied ,”Yes. I am. It’s come up three times in my nursing career. Once when I worked in ICU, again when I served as a parish nurse, and now.” Denise, my now mentor of many years, looked at me and said, “Then you are being called to the work and you are not paying attention.” I felt spirit rush through my body and I knew with my whole being that she was right. I WAS being called to the work. Within weeks I attended my first Healing Touch course and within a few months, I opened my practice.

Katie , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

We underestimate the power of our bodies to heal themselves. It takes a special kind of someone to help us access this state of the inner healer. It must be a clear conduit, a safe space completely free of judgment, with a clear healing intention. In a nutshell, this is what I provide. Through presence, touch, and plant medicine, I assist my clients in connecting more deeply to their Spirit, where we access the deep wisdom of the body to find the peace, harmony and freedom we all seek.

People who see the biggest results from my work as a Spiritual Health Nurse are those healing from anxiety, depression, cPTSD, infertility, miscarriage, grief/loss, and addiction.

My services include 1:1 Healing Touch bodywork to release stored trauma and emotional energy, healing circles, and plant medicine rituals. Plant medicine is Earth’s wisdom and together with intention, healing miracles are possible. These medicines include cacao, the rawest form of chocolate prepared by the hands of indigenous women from Central America and cannabis medicine.

My work reached a new level in 2021. I was diagnosed with cPTSD around the same time I needed to have my thyroid removed for Hashimoto’s. The nerve to my vocal cords was severed in surgery, and I was told I may never talk again, my voice may never be more than a raspy whisper. I never panicked. I knew that I had the power within to heal. I kept asking myself “Why is this happening for me?” I dove deep into my own energy patterns and how/where/why I held my voice back. I performed regular cannabis meditations in conjunction with music and sound healing. Within three months, not only was my voice back, I could project it to the crowd in attendance for a sound bath healing circle (pictured). My work came full circle when I applied my work in my own life to heal myself. I leveled up in the months after and can hold a greater energy vibration because of my healing experience. Miracles are possible. I bring this knowing with me into each client session.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

Trust. We live in a world where we don’t trust our neighbors. When people walk through my doors, there is instant trust and rapport. Most people can’t explain it. Clients are often shocked at how much of their story they disclose in their first meeting with me. I often hear, “I can’t tell anyone else this.” or “No one else knows this about me.”

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

Losing my voice in 2021 was one of my greatest gifts. Instead of approaching the situation in a victim state of mind, I could see that Spirit was gifting me this opportunity to learn and grow stronger. It wasn’t possible without the love and support of my community. Forty women held me in prayer and loving intention on the day of my surgery and the weeks that followed. My husband and father constantly reminded me and believed that my voice would be restored to its full potential (and then some).
