We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kassidy Clothier. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kassidy below.
Kassidy, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
My parents did so many things right, but one of the biggest was always encouraging me to chase my dreams and believing in me. They never pushed me into a “safe” path and instead supported me in pursuing what I was passionate about.
They also gave me practical wisdom, like encouraging me to go to community college instead of taking out large student loans. Looking back, that decision gave me so much freedom. I graduated without debt and was able to take risks and invest in building my photography business, even though I don’t use my degree in my career today.
Most importantly, they instilled a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial mindset in me. That foundation has shaped how I run my business and approach challenges, and it’s a big reason I’ve been able to build the career I have today.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a wedding and couples photographer based in Southern California. I got into photography through a love for storytelling and a desire to capture meaningful moments in people’s lives. What started as a creative passion slowly grew into a business as I realized how much I loved documenting real love stories and the emotions that come with them.
Today, I photograph weddings, engagements, and couples, focusing on creating images that feel natural, romantic, and timeless. My goal is to help my couples feel comfortable and truly present on their day so their photos reflect who they really are. Weddings go by so quickly, and I love being able to preserve those moments so couples can relive them for years to come.
One thing that sets me apart is how much I value connection. I care deeply about building genuine relationships with my clients so they feel like they’re working with a friend, not just a vendor. That trust helps people relax in front of the camera and allows me to capture more authentic moments.
What I’m most proud of is building a business that reflects my heart for people and storytelling. I want potential clients to know that when they work with me, they’re getting someone who truly cares about their story and will document their day with intention, creativity, and heart. My goal is always to create photos that not only look beautiful but also hold real meaning for the people in them.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I met my cofounder and husband, Cody, when we were both working our first job at Tillys. At the time, I had started getting into photography and slowly building my business. Once we got married, Cody began coming along with me to weddings and shoots mostly because he just wanted to spend time together on the weekends.
Over time, he fell in love with the creative side of the work and started helping more and more. What began as him tagging along turned into a true partnership. Today, we both work full time in the business together, capturing weddings and love stories, and it’s honestly been such a dream building something we’re passionate about side by side.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for me have been through social media specifically instagram and client referrals.
