Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kasey Render. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kasey, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
The most meaningful project that I have worked on was my first book BWPE: A Conversation With Yourself. I wrote this book in 2014 while still in college.
At this time in my life, I was figuring myself out. It was my first time living away from home and learning how to become a man.
BWPE stands for Blind With Perfect Eyes. I believe that we all have the ability to be happy. I believe we all have the perseverance in us to push through our struggles. Often times we become distracted with the curve balls life throws us. If we have those internal conversations with ourselves we will notice our true purpose.
This was my most meaningful project because it opened the doors of self reflection. It taught me how to understand my thoughts and prepared me to listen and understand others as well.
I’ve been selling BWPE: A Conversation With Yourself for 8 years now and the reaction is the same. It’s very relatable. This book has allowed me to connect with the world in ways social media never can.
Kasey, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a creative that loves all forms of expression. I inherited this from my mom as she would read to me every night since birth. Every night she would read a book to me. Those reading sessions were always followed by quizzes on what I learned. She encouraged me to question life and to always think critically.
This evolved into me writing my own books and creating my own businesses. I have a passion for creating something out of nothing. I like seeing a blank canvas turn into a masterpiece based on my own thoughts.
I currently have a publishing company called “Wimbley- Render Creations”, a health and wellness company called “Family Dreams Fitness”, and a non profit named after myself, “Kasey A. Render Foundation”.
I specialize in helping others reach their full potential. My contagious passion sets me apart from others. Me giving it my all in my endeavors motivates others to do the same for themselves.
My motto with Wimbley-Render Creations is to “open the doors to your mind”. I want my books and stories to encourage the world to tap into their vulnerability. Your vulnerability is your ultimate strength. You learn most when you allow yourself to be free and to feel. Once you are able to channel your emotions in a positive way, your potential is endless.
My motto with Family Dreams Fitness is free your mind. Once your mind is free from the mental constraints of the world, the body will follow. The body follows what the heart and mind tell it to. My goal is to help others clear their mind to truly find out purpose and direction.
My mission with the Kasey A. Render Foundation is to provide the necessary assistance to those in the community that need help progressing in life. I named my non profit after myself as a legacy move. When I’m long gone from Earth, I want the world to know what I lived for. My name will forever be attached to the community and progression.
Everything that I do is with the goal of improving the lives of others but it starts with me. I am an example of my businesses and work. The work is a reflection of me but on a grander scale.
I like to look at it like “if I can do it so can you”. I lead by example.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Resilience is everything to me. These past 6 years have been the ultimate test of life. In 2016 I went through a mental breakdown and spent a week in a behavioral hospital. In the hospital I was able to regain myself and learned how to cope with the stress of life.
In 2018 my closest uncle committed suicide and my mom was the last person to argue with him.
In 2019 my grandma passed away from Alzheimer’s. The month after she passed my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
In 2021 my aunt passed away from a massive heart attack then a few months later another uncle passed away.
I recently had to put my mom in an Assisted Living Facility because her Alzheimer’s is getting worse.
All of these losses and tribulations have taught me that life is extremely precious and fragile. You have to embrace every moment because once it’s gone it’s gone. Your memory of the moment is the only thing left.
Being resilient will keep you alive and pushing forward. I’ve suffered and continue to suffer from so much pain but resilience keeps me focused.
This life is bigger than the individual. It’s bigger than you or me. I fight everyday to pass down the lessons I’ve learned to the younger generations so that when they experience similar events in their life, they’ll be prepared and understand how to cope.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is freedom. You have total freedom when you are creating. The world is whatever you want it to be. I enjoy creating and sharing. Often times what you create from the heart it reaches the heart of others.
When you are honest in your creations, whether that be writing a book, or painting a mural or even rapping a song, when it comes from the heart the world feels it.
The chills I get when some says my art touches them is the biggest reward. The money is cool but it’s the impact on others that gives me the biggest satisfaction.
Being a creative allows you to connect with the world in ways that can’t be expressed with words. It’s all feelings.
