We were lucky to catch up with Karla Lasmar De Araujo recently and have shared our conversation below.
Karla Lasmar de Araujo , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you walk us through some of the key steps that allowed you move beyond an idea and actually launch?
” Brazilian entrepreneur and writer for over 20 years in the United States. The author tells her story from life in Brazil to a successful career in the beauty industry in the city of Boca Raton, FL, in her most recent work, Through the Eyes of Faith in the Broward Center of the Performing Arts -on May /2023. “
Karla Lasmar Araújo is a Brazilian entrepreneur who has lived in the United States for over 20 years.
She worked in several different areas, constantly innovating and creating opportunities for work and development for others until she became an international reference in the beauty field.
The Writing Craft has always been part of her life. At age six, she had already participated in literary contests with outstanding performance. She continued to develop her narrative skills in prose, poetry, and epistolary literature, among other styles, until she decided to invest time and talent in her first publication.
Currently, she divides her time between her career as an author, entrepreneur and her essential functions: wife of Leandro and mother of Layssa Martha, her greatest love after God.
Karla is the personification of the word overcoming. She achieved a successful life and, through the eyes of Faith, continues to conquer every dream of her heart, which, inspired by Christ’s own, continues to be generous and manifests deep gratitude.
Through the eyes of Faith is an autobiography in which the author narrates her experiences as a Christian and an immigrant in the USA whose life was always guided by bottomless Faith.
By sharing the blessings, she received from Christ in a challenging life journey permeated by adventures, she encourages readers to self-knowledge, develop their talents, and remain in unshakable Faith.
Karla can be described by three adjectives: determination, resilience, and Faith.
Still very young, she left the comfort of a life in Brazil, alongside a family built on the foundation of love, to start over in a distant land.
This bold decision did not come from an extreme need but from the certainty that the path prepared by God for her life would be taken in the United States, one of the most influential nations in the world.
Throughout each page, you, the reader, will learn how she faced each obstacle without allowing the difficulties to affect her moral principles and values and will find reasons not to give up fighting for her goals.
Karla Lamar’s story proves that, however difficult it may be to reach them, if we do our part best and fully trust in God, nothing is impossible.
In By the eyes of Faith, she reveals her complete trust in God, remembering His statement in her words:
“This is an order: be firm and courageous. Do not be afraid, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9)”.
This book clarifies that the help of the Lord is the firm and only foundation capable of underpinning the construction of a victorious life.

How will I know? Walking by Faith is an ongoing journey. What I do know is that I trust God’s word and all that it is capable of revealing to me.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
A statement to remember as I walked into the future is: God has a perfect plan in the midst of a million imperfect days and reality .
My perspectives are limited.
BUT ,GOD IS UNLIMITED .
And when I forget that, I’m lying forgetting all your promises.
I soon come to the conclusion that I need to live God’s perspectives to expand my own just as Isaiah 55:9 reminds us.

Let’s talk about my history as a professional hair stylist.
Breaking new grounds in Art is my fuel and inspiration. In addition to techniques and chemical knowledge, I use very special features to develop my work and reach results: professionalism, creativity and talent.
Working as a hair colorist and hairstylist has been my passion for 13 years, a few years after I moved from Uberlândia, a small city in Minas Gerais – Brazil, to the US, in 2004. Everything I went through helped me to get along and taught me important lessons. Currently, I run my own studio, KA Beauty Concept which is a dream that came true after working in many beauty salons in Florida.
The experiences I had showed me that beauty is not just about trends or fashion, it’s about feeling good and confident. And I’m passionate about bringing out beauty and style through hair, using visagism and coloring techniques.
My purpose is taking naturalness and authenticity into consideration. Because, after all, our face and style are non verbal communication and the way we look says a lot about us. Every person has its own beauty, and it is wonderful to discover it. You communicate from the moment the other person sees you. And, believe me, your visual communication, high self-esteem and well being says a lot about you .
I believe in longevity and every detail counts . That why i dedicate to paint with creative flare to amplify your individuality using the KA signature Color Techniques .Blending the perfect shades that complement your skin tone and features to enhance your natural beauty.
KA was founded by Karla Araujo, a professional who has already worked with many of the top beauty salons in South Florida and brings with her all of her special talents and techniques, providing our distinguished clientele with the best in hair coloring, signature dimensional blondes, brunettes,balayage, extensions, hairstyle,and color correction.
The studio is located in a prime spot in East Boca Raton, in Palm Beach County – Florida.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
We must never be stuck in one place, in one phase. Our life needs to move, increase frequency and move forward .
” Just as there are seasons, there are stages of growth. There will be times when it will be slower. In others, the station will help to be faster. It may even stop at some point. Maybe it’s the rest time before progressing again, following nature’s cycles and the purpose of bearing fruit.
I want to grow. Ever. I was uprooted from a land with my roots still small to be planted in a new land that would contribute to the strength-ening of those roots and the birth of new ones.”

Fear not, He will enable you. Don’t expect to be ready, you will be prepared along the way. Don’t insist on going in your own strength alone. The strength you need comes from Him.
Don’t get distracted, He doesn’t stop His work because of your distraction. Don’t mumble, that way you’ll get to your destination faster.
Don’t think for a second that He has forgotten you, for He works even while you sleep.
Don’t give up, He doesn’t give up on you. Don’t believe lies, He is the Truth.
Before being anything in this life, you are the King’s child, precisely the one who has the greatest interest in blessing and caring for you.
Everything passes, just his love for you and the truths that have already been written about your story and your life don’t pass.

.. As it happens, I have never been without work on this earth a day in my life. I had selfconfidence and determination to always reinvent myself.
Every day you have to wake up and go to war, otherwise you will be swallowed up. Nobody expects you. Life will not wait for you. So go fight!
Put your faith to action !!!
Therefore, you need to seek your own pace and speed up your process, without shortcuts and self-sabotage, but living each phase at your own pace, one day at a time. It’s important to have well-defined goals about what you want to achieve that year and not measure efforts to make it happen.
Go with the resources you have and do your best. Believe me, your purpose will find you and you will know exactly what stage of your life you are at.

Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?
I
opened KA Hair Beauty
Studio after eight years
of work, learning, many
courses, practice and special-
ization in color correction
and hair extensions.
I have heard many
promises from salon owners
that have not been kept.
Finally, one day I heard
from the mouth of the
owner of the salon where
I worked an unfortunate
sentence that hurt me a lot,
right at a moment in my
life that I had just received
the news that my parents
were facing cancer. First, I
learned about my mother;
months later, from my father.
“Karla, ask God why you aren’t successful in life. I replied: – You can be sure
I won’t have to ask Him that question. Since the true concept of prosperity
is not limited to the judgments and vision of a person without wisdom.
Therefore, I will never listen to foolish comments and assertions.
Don’t mention the name of the bitter-hearted person who hurt
me, used words to shake me and weaken my faith. What he said,
however, did not find ground in my heart. I didn’t allow your words
and your opinion to dictate what I am and could be. “I am a winner ” , I said .
I believe that person, former boss, never knew the real and true mean-
ing of prosperity. At the time, it was devastating. It hurt my soul. A movie
played in my head and then, after doing my best at this job, taking more
clients than the salon itself referred me to, not being valued or recognized
for all the tireless marketing work I did when I wasn’t there . , although I
received praise in some meetings, I found that it was all just a game.
People will always look at their side, it’s up to you to value yourself. If you’ve been favoring others too much without any recognition, it’s time
to take control and decide that from now on you’re the one who dictates
the rules in your professional life.
I had already gone through many jobs. Each of them was necessary
for me to have the background and experience to start my own. I looked
inside myself and spoke to God: — Lord, it’s true that I really need a job. Now, more than ever, my parents may need financial support, and I can no longer abandon
everything and be with them, as this is not what they want for my life. Help me to move forward.
I heard from my parents: — No matter what happens, follow your path, build
your story, fight, conquer, go after your dreams. We already live in that time when you, young and single, are starting your life. This is your moment. We bless her and are
always covering her in prayer. Do not give up. Just come back if you feel in your heart that it’s the moment. Consult the Lord and don’t care what others say.
How difficult is this feeling of being divided. Wanting and needing
to be in two places at once. But when we are talking about the distance
between two countries, the reality is different. The phrase that made me
wake up and decide to open my own business was said by the owner of
the salon where I worked: — Karla, ask God: why aren’t you prosperous?
Those words, even with the name of God in the middle, came like
an arrow. I was able to feel the malicious intent, loaded with prejudice,
humiliation and envy – not of me, but of the work I was doing. People
called the salon wanting to make an appointment with me, as a result of
the personal marketing I carried out, but they were directed to another
professional. Back then, we didn’t have the benefits of social media.
I heard this evil lie, an attack that came to destroy the self confidence
I always had, simply by questioning why my clients were referred to other
hairdressers, hurting me financially.
The answer I gave to that question was: — First, what I know as prosperity
is very far from the concept of material riches. I know it as abundance, a gift from God.
Now, the prosperity you are talking about is called the deceitfulness of vanities. Truly
prosperous people are free from the flashy mentality. They know that having quality of
life is far from needing to demonstrate status: they are free.
And I continued: – Second, I didn’t “prosper” because I’m doing way more
than I should to enrich your business, that is, what I should be doing for myself. As of today, I no longer work for your salon, because while I work for you to grow, I stop investing in my projects and dreams.
And in my mind I prayed, “God, I thank you for everything in my life. It is
the Lord who justifies us.”
I haven’t known what inertia is for a long time. I know that when we
start the journey, on the way, we will hear affronts and pass many tests,
but they are what will prepare us for our mission.
— What do you have for me now, Lord?
God: — Karla, if you listen to your heart, in the end everything will be revealed.
I have stories in each of the salons I’ve been to. I built relationships
and some of those people are in my life to this day. I am grateful for how
much I was able to learn, not only in practice and in the courses, I took
along the way, but mainly in daily experiences.
However, I’m going to advance: when you start to shine, stand out,
grow, people start to ask themselves: — Why her?
They will always want to erase it, pull the rug out from under it, buy
it, deceive it. They will promise and will not deliver. What you can do is
extract the best you can wherever you go, be observant, pay attention to
people, network. And soon you will be walking with your own legs, doing
things your own way, without having to submit to rules that limit you, of growing and progressing .
And most importantly: you can build your brand, your business.
Having your signature on the results, being recognized for your talent
and conquering your space in the market. Because there comes a time when you need to understand that what you needed to learn, you already learned. You need to change phase.
Don’t worry. It will not have been wasted time. It will never be. It’s just the natural process and cycle of life. It will be up to you to discern the time to leave so that you can then grow and live more freely.
I worked hard and I continue to do so, but now I’m the one who calls
the shots. I don’t have to submit to the bosses’ schedules or work for them.
I will manage my time, free from pressure and meaningless rules.
She had already been disciplined enough. It was time to take charge
of my professional life.
