Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kallie Fischer. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kallie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
This is a really long story that I will condense into this field. In December of 2015 I lost my sales job and, in that moment, it felt like life was ending. Countless interviews with competitors and other larger companies turned into no job offers and what felt like wasted time. Little did I know that sales job prepared me for taking risks, stepping out on my own, and now an owner of a successful chiropractic practice. If you would have told me in that December that I would be a business owner, chiropractor, and educator, I would have told you, you were crazy.
I had dreamed of becoming a chiropractor since an early age, my dad was a chiropractor. But through life events and a really terrible motorcycle accident in 2012, I switched majors from pre-chiropractic to business management. This change led me to a career in sales. I was good at my job and enjoyed the face-to-face sales portion but HATED being stuck behind a computer and a phone 90% of the time. Losing my job in 2015 is the best thing that could have happened to me. I truly believe if I was never let go, I would have never taken the risk to move 4 states away to attend school and become a chiropractor. My sales job taught me how to work with people, how to public speak, how to move people from a no to a yes, and best 0f all it taught me that I love helping people and the career I was in was not the career I would be in for a lifetime.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Dr. Kallie was a name that I dreamt about since the age of 3 years old. My dad was a chiropractor, and I knew from a young age that I wanted to help people just like him. In college I was in a motorcycle accident and not living near home I had to seek chiropractic care from other providers. I would get adjusted by other doctors that weren’t my dad and many times they made me feel worse. At this point I decided to switch careers and went into business management. After college I worked in sales. I realized I loved the face to face but HATED sales calls and emails. Not knowing what to do next, I lost my job in 2015. I applied with competitors and other larger companies, but nothing worked out. This was the push I needed to take the risk and go to chiropractic school to live out my dream. Thanks to a fender bender my first year in chiropractic school, I met Dr. Lawlor. He practices a specialized technique called Gonstead Chiropractic. When I started seeing him as my doctor, not only did years of excruciating pain go away, but I also started seeing changes in my overall health. I had higher energy levels, less constipation, and better periods. I realized chiropractic helped with overall health more than just how I felt. I realized this is the technique I needed to perfect as a chiropractor to help my future patients. I now own Rise Family Chiropractic using the Gonstead System and I get to see people lives changed every single day.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
The technique that I practice has helped me build my reputation within my market. The area I live in has many chiropractors and the Gonstead system is what truly sets me apart. Gonstead chiropractic is specific, analytical, and neurologically based. By using this approach, I have seen people’s health completely change. I have seen people go from fertility problems to pregnancy, colicky, inconsolable babies become peaceful, and people crawling into my practice to running in Ironmans. The Gonstead technique uses many forms of analysis to get to the root of the problem. It has shown me how specificity and attention to detail can truly transform lives and give me a great reputation in my field.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Network, network, network! Knowing people in your community is crucial for growing clientele. Not only expanding your circle is important but being intentional with your circle. Anyone who knows me knows that the way that I practice is not like traditional chiropractors. And if they hear anyone talk about a problem, they can’t find a solution to, they refer me. Also networking without the intention of growing your practice, but with the intention of serving others. I think its always better to give than to get.
