We were lucky to catch up with Kallen Rimple recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Kallen , thanks for joining us today. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
Between 2019-2020 I lost my job twice and decided to let God led my way. I started KookWithKay by selling plates weekly to make some extra money. The more that grew I started doing small events to get my name and word of mouth is really what took me up to the next level. I had people inquiring left and right. I’ve been able to work with the Augusta nationals, I’ve done wedding events, birthday, anniversary, and etc. I’m super grateful for the people that I have come in contact with through this process!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started going to culinary school in 2019 at Helms College in Augusta, ga. I graduated a year after and received my degree. I started my business while I was in school. KookWithKay is special to me because I really want people to feel comfortable and like family when I’m at an event. I want to give my people the best quality of food and experience every single time they book with me.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think that people know I have a passion for what I do. I always tell myself I would honestly do this for free if I could. I really love what I do and I think people can see that and taste that in my food.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Word of mouth honestly. I have real clients that trust me and what I do. I leave an impression on everyone I meet and that has allowed me to grow my business in many ways.
