We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kacey Redmond a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kacey, appreciate you joining us today. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
There are a few emerging trends in digital marketing. One, of course, is the emergence of Artificial Intelligence and its use in pretty much anything digital. AI can be used to generate social media posts, blogs, emails, website text, unique images, videos and the list goes on. Marketing professionals who have taken hold of this technology and use it to shorten their turnaround time and better their production are succeeding with it instead of fearing it.
Another trend is that some social media platforms like LinkedIn are promoting content that is longer-form and link-free instead of the previously favored short paragraphs that link to longer-form content. The goal is to keep users on the platform itself, so the algorithms are promoting content that has this focus.
TikTok has increased its advertising focus with the TikTok shop and all the content creator videos that can earn promotion money linking to shop products as well as more ads themselves in the “For You Page” feed. It’s still up in the air as to whether this will affect total user base for the platform.
When Twitter rebranded to “X,” the platform to a user hit and continues to do so. Advertising dollars and way down and daily and monthly users are down as well. The future of this platform is in the air, so digital marketers are trying to figure out whether or not to recommend it as a platform focus for clients.
Overall, videos continue to be an increased focus and investment for digital marketing clients across all social media platforms, for both paid and unpaid social media content.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
After 13 years of marketing experience working in internal marketing departments, I decided to open my own digital marketing agency tailored toward assisting small businesses grow through digital marketing. Just previous to starting the business I had worked for a startup incubator for 3 years and had worked directly with startup companies in a marketing coaching capacity. I saw the need for someone to assist these low-level businesses with marketing expertise.
Eventually the clientele moved to larger companies and the offerings expanded from social media to all things digital marketing. From website development to social media content creation and management, to email marketing, to website SEO to Google Ad campaigns…Cincy Marketing Maven is a “one-stop digital marketing shop” for small businesses.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
The company is currently in a pivot transition. We are partnering with another company to offer marketing packages that add more value to our customers. Instead of custom project pricing, we will be offering standard pricing for different packages that have set offerings. Additionally, for the low-budget customers, we have developed a subscription-based website with DIY video tutorials showing how to do the digital marketing “must haves” for a start-up/small business.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to retire in Costa Rica and live my life on the beach, enjoying paradise for as long as possible. I work to live, not live to work. While I chose my profession because I love it, love the challenge of it…I don’t want to be working until I die. I want to earn enough money to be able to move to paradise and enjoy the end of my life.
