We recently connected with Justin and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Justin, thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump back to the first dollar you earned as a creative? What can you share with us about how it happened?
The first time I made money as a creative was when I got paid to perform in Tampa, Florida. The client was at a spot called The Shuffle. I was connected to this opportunity by another music artist. I had other guest artists perform with me, and we put on a show. It was very fulfilling because the audience knew the words to my songs. It felt really awesome knowing that my music was making an impact. The vibes were amazing, and everyone enjoyed themselves. It was a night to remember!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I go by JNabe, and I started my music career at a local music studio called GFM Recording Studios. I interned there, and that’s how I learned how music was made, and I started becoming obsessed and wanted to perfect my craft. I started by having a basic recording setup in my office. I started with hip-hop and recording myself on Logic Pro. My fans love my music because of my consistency and uniqueness in my music. I’m most proud of my song Respect Her Bag because it’s my best song to date.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I feel like the most rewarding aspect is seeing the finished product. For example, a song or music video is being completed. Seeing everything come together and be completed is very fulfilling. It gives you a high like no other. I would also say collaborating with other artists is really rewarding. Working with other people has always been a core strategy in my music career.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My main goal is to give back. I have always focused on philanthropy in my music career. I always make sure to give back, whether it be my time or my money. I have already done some stuff with a chicken company where I fed underprivileged kids. It’s always an honor to help others through my artistry.
