Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Justin Frank. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Justin, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
In order to be successful in any business it requires growth….growth of knowledge, growth of skills, growth of your team. I see many entrepreneurs start a business and don’t do any personal growth. There is so much information out there, and it is foolish to think you know it all. If you aren’t trying to grow, that means you’re going to stay where you are. If you stay where you are, I wouldn’t consider that successful.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am co-owner of Bread and Cheese Eatery. We are a Gourmet Grilled Cheese Catering Company. I think we’ve differentiated ourselves by taking this simple food and making it gourmet, as well as creating a system that can produce them very quickly (up to 500 an hour). This system has been able to give us a leg up on the competition as we can get the bigger events that most companies wouldn’t be able to execute. We are most proud of our repeat customer rate. We’ve had over 80% of our corporate clients hire us multiple times. This shows us that we are providing a quality product at a price that people are happy with. Our long term goal is to open up a brick and mortar and eventually franchise!
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Maintaining high morale is important for keeping your team part of your team! The best and most important way to that is to keep a safe work environment. Physically safe, and emotionally safe. Make sure everyone knows they will be respected by the bosses and their co-workers. Next is to create connections with them and talk to them about their jobs, lots of check-in’s. The one that has helped us numerous times is, “What can we do to make the job better/easier?” We’ve had multiple team members give us great ideas that have helped us save labor, and make the job easier for the team members.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
My business partner and I have been friends our entire life. Our parents were friends long before we were born, and we were lucky enough to be born to two great sets of parents. We didn’t know we were going to be business partners, but we both found ourselves in between jobs at the same time and decided to give it a go. Now, 5 years later, we are still growing our business, loving the industry and happy with our lives!

Known Justin Frank since 2001. He was my sons Residential Advisor in college. Mature and very friendly. I felt comfortable leaving my son his freshman year. Doesn’t surprise me at all that Justin’s personality and strong work ethic has brought him to such success! Wonderful article!
