Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Justin “Drop boi” Brooks. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Justin “Drop boi” thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
Being from a very violent city of st.Louis Missouri I’d have to say the biggest risk I took was “on myself “ The reason I say myself is because when nobody else believed in me I kept striving to be a better version of myself from the previous day . I currently still live by that moral . The late great nipsy hussle said “the marathon continues “, life’s not a race it’s a marathon it’s not bout winning first place all the it’s about finishing ! And that’s exactly what I intend to do ..finish my marathon
Justin “Drop boi” , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As far as entertainment goes I’ve been involved for many years (still waiting on my big break lol ) first I started with music and later on start experimenting with films as an beginner actor all while still Pursuing my dreams I entertained owning my own company and since I liked fashion I figured why not a clothing brand ?! Being that I knew how to draw I felt it’d be easy to create a logo , and it was ..I created a brand named RàRè pronounced (rah ray) Wich stands for “reassess reevaluate “ because I feel that’s something we all have to do at some point or time in life . Since trademarking my brand and creating custom apparel I have to admit I find peace and joy scouting and meeting new customers and associates..I strive to make RàRè a house hold name and jump at any type of positive networking opportunities because I love to learn ways to further my brand and knowledge of the business as a whole . Currently I specialize in men women and children clothes including shirts pants joggers sweat suits leggings for women and short sets for summer time and tactical vest . I strive to get to know my customers so that they’ll feel comfortable and will come back . If I’ve ever had any issues with a customer I try my best to address the situation with professionalism and courteous customer service skills by allowing them to keep whatever messed up and I replace it outta my own pocket.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A very valuable lesson I had to unlearn is that every one you consider a good friend will not support you just because you’re friends
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
For me starting my business was not as hard as I thought .i honestly wish I would’ve been started one years ago ..I use to be horrible saving money but I saved money and got my LLC and then trademark my logo
