We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Just Acting Up. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Just Acting Up below.
Just Acting Up, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
When we started our show most didnt understand it at 1st. We had to work hard to grow this platform. Most podcast at the time were pretty one dimensional. So introducing something new and different can be risky. Will we be able to even get people to check out the show??? That was a big question, but having the right team was key. Our chemistry on the show translates just as well behind the scenes, We are all driven and passionate about our platform and it only helps push us to greatness. Was it easy, not at all there were a few bumps in the road along the way but that only made us better. And Here we are 2 years later where we have carved out our own lane and created a great community of talented individuals in the film/tv industry.

Just Acting Up, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
There is so much talent in Houston, we wanted to create a platform that highlighted actors, directors, writers, comedians etc. The tv/film industry is huge and has plenty of talented people on it and so we wanted to showcase the melting pot of talent that wouldn’t normally get the recognition or exposure that it deserves.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Well, it all started at a film meetup group mixer at the West End Bar. Chris and Mike, long time friends who were interested in the film industry and at the mixer they met James who is a local actor/scriptwriter. After the mixer, they remained in contact with each other and about 1 1/2 years passed. Chris then mentioned to both Mike and James about starting a podcast. As we grew our platform we felt there was still a missing piece to the show. And just so happens that while on set we met Tashay , a talented actress/model/music artist who was funny, had a great personality and was that missing piece we needed to elevate our show to the next level.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
There’s a huge community of talent in this industry everyone doesn’t always get the shine that they deserve. Our goal is to put a spotlight on that talent whether big or small and provide a platform other actors, writers, directors etc etc.
