We recently connected with Julia Wong and have shared our conversation below.
Julia, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Alright, so we’d love to hear about how you got your first client or customer. What’s the story?
I remember sharing part of my story about being stuck in a toxic narcissistic relationship. That same night, I recall the video going viral. It was then that I realized I wasn’t alone; many others found it relatable. I felt the pain firsthand and knew what it was like to have nobody believe or understand you. I kept creating content and eventually decided to pursue it long-term. One day, someone sent me a direct message on social media, asking for a call and offering to pay. However, I booked the call without accepting payment. I did this for several people, but it became very time-consuming. So, I decided to create a category for booking appointments. That’s how it all started.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a survivor of narcissistic abuse and now use my platform to help hundreds of people every day. I feel blessed to assist even one person daily. When I was in that situation, I never thought I could escape. It’s so easy to be trapped for life, and getting out is incredibly difficult. What I’m most proud of is being able to help others by simply sharing my story. Being the voice for those who can’t speak for themselves and knowing that someone understands is life-changing.
I’ve also shared my experiences in a book called “Fast Fading,” available on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CNPX9319).
Additionally, for those with children caught in toxic relationships, I have created a coloring book with affirmations called “Mungees Affirmations,” also available on Amazon. (https://a.co/d/6H1c7qk)

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn a lot of trauma from the toxic and abusive relationship. I was conditioned to believe that using my voice would lead to punishment and that I was asking for too much by seeking basic loyalty and honesty. I had to unlearn many things I thought were normal but weren’t.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Just by being me, being genuine. Everyone who has followed me from the beginning knows that I don’t sugarcoat anything. I share my real-life experiences on my platform exactly as they are.
