Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jordy @ndgojordy. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jordy, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I started learning how to edit videos in High School as a hobby! I was inspired by watching vlogs & basketball mixtapes on YouTube, and I started learning how to edit video in iMovie. I built a good foundation of learning to edit video early on by recording videos of me & my friends and editing those clips into vlogs that we can all watch back for memories. Video editing was never my full time job, but I always found myself coming back to it as a hobby, and something I found to be fun. I never actually edited sports content until I started my TikTok page in November 2023. I started making sports content tied in with music, and I never would’ve imagined it would grow into what it is today! Even until now, I am still having fun with it, creating the content I want to make, while sharing my passion for sports and music. I was able to capture an audience by using intros of athletes singing/dancing to a song, then transition into their highlights while continuing the song from the intro clip. I truly appreciate everyone who has supported me on this unexpected journey, it would not be possible without you all!
People ask me for advice all the time regarding where to start, how to edit, how to go viral. I can only give advice off of my personal experience, and that is to just start trying different concepts & video styles. The hardest part of it all to me, is actually starting and doing what you want to do, and that goes for anything in life. Once you start turning your ideas into action, you’ve taken the biggest step there is to take. From there, never stop posting, never compare yourself to anyone else, and always have fun with whatever you’re doing. If you’re doing it for the wrong reasons, it won’t last & it will show through your work.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Jordy aka jordy. (@ndgojordy), I create audience engaging sports content in the form of highlights/edits with music on TikTok, IG & Twitter. I first started posting on TikTok just for fun, and to share my passion for sports and music. I sought out to differentiate my content from others by using intro clips of athletes singing or dancing then transition into their highlights with the same song playing. In 10 months of creating content, I have grown my TikTok page to 350K+ followers, close to 200M views, & 27M likes.
I am most proud of being able to connect with an audience and make a name for myself on social media, while always staying true to myself. I started this for fun & I’m still having fun with it! I never have, and never will do this for views or fame, I really do this for fun out of love for sports and music. I still can’t believe that a hobby of mine has turned into all this, and I can’t thank everyone who has supported me enough. Without you all, this would not be possible!
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I really feel like I captured my audience by showing clips of athletes singing or dancing, or doing something funny off of the court/field. I always felt that clips like those allowed all of us to relate to those athletes because they enjoy the same music or activities that we do. But building an audience on social media does not happen overnight or with one viral video. I am where I am now because I never stopped posting, and never stopped having fun with it. I truly do this for fun & to share my ideas with the world!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal is always to inspire others to do what they truly want to do in life. Not many people know but the “NDGO” part of my username @ndgojordy stands for “No Dream Goes Overlooked’. I get messages and comments every day telling me that I inspired their content, and it means a lot to me because that is a reason why I continue to do this. If I can inspire even just one person to go out and pursue their passion, then I feel successful in this journey.
I also feel like the content I create can really give people out there a break from life, & just enjoy your favorite athlete’s highlights to great music!
