We recently connected with Jorden Earle and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jorden, thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission the drives your brand?
The mission here at Bang’d salon is to create a laid back and enjoyable salon experience. I want anyone to come in and just feel comfortable. The goal is to have you leaving our salon space feeling like the best version of yourself. My talented team of stylists can take any idea and create it. No judgment here, if something makes you feel good about yourself we will do it!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I got into the the beauty industry in 2014. I’ve always been an artsy person, if something wasn’t enjoyable for me I wouldn’t put my heart into it. So I quit literally every other non artsy job I had.
Hair was supposed to just be something I did while figuring out what I wanted to do with my life, little did I know it would become my calling.
I’ve always been a quiet person, I do great 1 on 1 but in large groups I’m just not a talker. I found with doing hair not only could I build confidence in others, it really helped my social skills. I got to learn so much about different people and their stories. I can proudly say I love and care for all of my clients.
I’ve had some of my clients for over 8 years , I hear it all. I get to celebrate when something amazing happens in their life and talk it out with them during rough patches. I cherish all of the people who helped make my career what it is.
I decided in 2020 to expand Bang’d and add in 2 more stylists. I feel like we have a tight salon family and care for all of our clients and keeping a good vibe in the salon.
I’m very proud of the artsy space we have together and I couldn’t be happier where this life has taken me.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn the salon stigma of hair being a competitive thing. When starting out a lot of salons had non compete contracts and some stylists would purposely try to steal clients away from others to build up their clientele. There’s no way in hell I could handle doing all of phoenix’s hair.
I think it’s so so so important to build up my fellow co workers, other stylists and salons.
share those formulas and new techniques to help others with their confidence and grow!
Building others up is the BEST thing you could do in this industry.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I’d say I built my social media following with my vivid hair colors and lots of hashtags. It started to bring in a crowd of people who I felt were a lot like me!
Id post goofy captions or things on my stories to try to capture the “vibe” of my space so people knew what they were getting into.
I’d say just be yourself on social media and engage with your audience!
If someone doesn’t like you for your social media presence they don’t need to be in your place of business anyways!
