We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jonny Bakoulas. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jonny below.
Jonny, appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
This one is a big one! I think one of the biggest risks that everyone has to take at life is to decide if you gonna follow your dreams or if you gonna chose a safer path. Don’t get me wrong both choices are respected. But in case you go for the first one as I did then you have to make risk part of your life. To make it more personal for me that moment was when I decided to become full time artist and when i choose to create pop music as a DJ/Producer.
You know, It’s tempting to adhere to established norms or mimic successful formulas, but true artistry thrives on innovation and pushing boundaries. The risk lies in not daring to be different, not challenging the status quo, and not embracing the authenticity that sets you apart. To truly make an impact, artists must be fearless in expressing their unique voice, even if it means facing criticism or uncertainty. Embracing the unknown and being unapologetically true to oneself is the ultimate risk that can lead to unparalleled creative heights and a lasting impact on the industry.
In the symphony of life, the most enchanting melodies are composed by those who dare to take risks and follow their dreams. Just as every note in a song contributes to its beauty, every risk we take adds a unique harmony to the soundtrack of our existence. As an aspiring pop artist or anyone with a dream, remember that your journey is a canvas waiting for the strokes of your courage and passion.
In the world of music, innovation doesn’t arise from playing it safe; it blossoms when we bravely explore uncharted territories, defy expectations, and let our authentic selves shine through. Each of us holds the power to craft a narrative that resonates with the hearts of many.
So, to all the dreamers out there, let your aspirations be your guiding stars, and let the risks you take be the bold brushstrokes that create a masterpiece. Your dreams are not just yours; they are an inspiration waiting to captivate the world. Embrace the risk, dance to the rhythm of your heart, and watch as your unique journey unfolds into a melody that leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of those who listen.
I wanna close by saying that sometimes ”Big risks leads to great things”.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
For those who meet me for first time I’m Jonny better known as Jback and I’m an artist Dj/Music producer from Greece. From young age pop music and pop culture effect it me a lot. As a teenager I grew up in the pick of EDM and there was the first time I came in contact with the whole Dj/producer thing. For some years I start searching what is this how it works etc. Then in the age of 16 I bought my first equipment and downloaded my first Daw and i start to learn on it.It was totally a hobby back then. But day by day I was falling more and more in love with that. Then i start perform in some school parties totally for fun but quick i understand that was my thing. The next years and by the age of 18 my pop influences start to kick in. There I decide that my goal as an artist is to bring the whole ”popstart” theme and pop sound in to Dj world. From that point till now I release my music I try to find my signature sound and I perform in many big shows. I feel bless for the love i receive in my first steps in the music industry!
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me is the connection with audience. They way that you connect people or you can make people feel something with your music or your performance i think is the best reward. Sometimes we can’t express what we feel but a song can. Its very important for me to make my song stories in a way that the listeners who going through something similar to find a way to express themselves. Same way goes and in the shows in my shows I want people to feel free to express themselves have fun and connect all this different personalities. I can say a million more things about the rewards you get as an artist but honestly i wanna dedicate this answer to the audience to all the fans since without them we cant do what we do.
Much Much love to every one of them.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
I red a quote at some point witch said ”Support your local artists”, I think that quote said it all. The most important thing is to give chances to new artists and to be open to explore and found them.
Give the chance and press the play to that new tune, interact with them in socials , give them your support if you like them even if they’re their first fan, go earlier in the gig and support the opening act and many more small things. As an upcoming artist I know this struggle very well and the seconds that takes you to press a like to make a comment to press play and all this kind of things for us is so important. It can change our day, It give us power and motivation to keep going.
