We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jonna Capone. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jonna below.
Jonna, appreciate you joining us today. Have you signed with an agent or manager? Why or why not?
I do have an agent. I actually have been blessed to work with several agents currently across different states. I met some of them through social media and others through open calls and direct submissions. I decided to work with them because I believed in their message and how cohesive it was to my own goals as a performer.

Jonna, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I have been grateful to work as an actor, singer, curve model, social media influencer and coach for several years on both the East and West Coast. I started at a young age performing in my church and then enrolled in piano classes, dance classes and acting classes through the remainder of my life. I went to college to earn my Vocal Performance degree and attended NYU to earn a masters. I then found my way into modeling and social media marketing while in New York and have been using my own platform Curvy Capone to share my body positive message. I hope to use my platform to inspire others to not limit themselves, and to follow their dreams without limitations.
I work as a model and create images with photographers for several campaigns. I also love to sing and perform as often as possible. I love to write and act in scripts in both tv and film. All of these creative endeavors have led me to help others on my platform and through social media. I am earning my personal training certification and I also teach young actors in hopes of sharing my experiences to help those interested in the creative and wellness fields.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative is the connection to people and the human experience. I love story telling and I love people.I enjoy connecting with others and creating life long memories. I see the importance of creativity in the lives of those around me. I think seeing how my art or experience has a positive affect on someone makes it even more special. If I can just help one person feel better about their circumstance or inspire others in any way then I feel like I have purpose. I want to be a vessel for love, life and light.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my audience on social media through trial and error as well as reaching out to those I admired. If there was someone else in my field and they were doing something I wanted to do I reached out. The worst thing they could say is no or charge me for consulting and then I would at least have the information. I think we have to take risks when we first start out and I would say know ourselves. I think everyone’s super power is that there is no one else out there like them. I think we need to spend time with ourselves and learn our strengths. It is okay to fail and to be vulnerable. Learn to be empathetic and to sit in what is uncomfortable. I think we can only grow if we allow ourselves to experience. I also will say do the research! We have so much information at our fingertips we just have to take the time to prioritize your time.
