Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Joe “ZombieCat” Aguirre. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Joe “ZombieCat”, thanks for joining us today. Can you share a story about the kindest thing someone has done for you and why it mattered so much or was so meaningful to you?
One of the kindest things that anyone has ever done for me, was my girlfriend Cabrini who believes in me. She has been through the good the bad and the ugly of it all in my Artistic journey. She has helped me to build my clientele and has attended and helped me with all of my events and conventions. She has also helped me to market and sell my art and merchandise. I can never thank her enough!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Joe ZombieCat Aguirre. I have been drawing and creating art since I was 7 years old. I started selling my art and attending events and conventions with my art and merchandise in Pasadena and Los Angeles and surrounding areas since 2014.. I feel that my discipline and good work ethic is because of my past military training. It has definitely helped me in my artistic journey. I have been very fortunate to have met great people and fellow artists and vendors in the industry. I go out of my way to provide quality merchandise and outstanding customer service to my customers. I always make it a point to follow up with them to see if they have received their orders and if there are any issues with their orders, that I can make it right for them. ZombieCat Art has been operating for 10 years now and I always have new ideas and creative ventures happening for me. I would like to thank everyone who continues to support my art and merch.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I strongly believe that my loyal clients and friends who helped me spread the word about my art and merchandise throughout social media platforms, helped me build my reputation within the horror and kustom culture markets. I am very grateful to them.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
You might hear this a lot, but whenever the world was going through the Covid Pandemic, I stopped creating Art completely for about 3 years. I didn’t have the drive or inspiration to keep going. It was my girlfriend Cabrini & my barber Tony, who finally snapped me out of it and believed in me, for me to dive right back in. Now, I feel that I am fully back and motivated to share my Art and Merchandise with everyone!
