We recently connected with Joanna Gerard and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Joanna, thanks for joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I think it is a combination of things. In my opinion success has more to do with freedom than money or status per say. I will admit that the perks that come along with success are pretty nice. In my own experience, I focused on my intuition most. I always felt my intuition led me in the right direction. Actually I would say intuition and imagination. I can literally picture something in my creative mind so intensely that it motivates me to start ( and continue working on it.)
Perseverance is another thing. I have a lot of Scorpio in my chart, so when I fixate on a goal, I do so very intensely.
My problem is I often have several goals I’m working on at any given time. It’s a balancing act for me.

Joanna, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I was born and raised in Florida, and graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Mass Communications. I did my internship at a radio station, which I loved. They would allow me to do their voiceover work for bands that were coming into town. My mom is also very spiritual. She came from a family of psychics. From the time I was eight years old, I was researching and reading her Astrology books.
I had always had premonitions and dreams that would indeed come true. To make a long story short people started hiring me for my accuracy as a Psychic and an Astrologer. I created my own Astrology oracle cards and booklet which are available on my website.
I had an opportunity, after many years of hard work and dedication, to be on Television and do a live psychic show at Viejas Casino in San Diego in 2019.
During this time, I was asked to be interviewed on radio and podcasts, and that’s when my passion for acting and voiceover work came back.
I have been to California three times in the last year,. I was in a commercial for the casino and also did voiceover work.
I also do many other things, and I am constantly looking to grow in the creative, entrepreneurial world.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
I never put all of my eggs in one basket. I do best in life when I’m doing several different things. After graduating with a degree in Mass Communications,, I went back and received a teaching certificate. In order to fund both of my websites, products, and basic business expenses, I would teach.
Teaching gave me the time off and resources to grow both of my businesses.
It really does take money to make money.
I have more plans that I am working on. I never stop creating new opportunities for growth and expansion. I’m bored otherwise.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I have never enjoyed a 9 to 5 job. I feel stifled, bored. I will do what I have to do though in order to bring my creative pursuits to fruition. I think as a creative person, it’s easy to throw caution to the wind and just fly free. I am a risk taker, but I’m also practical enough to know that to be truly creative, I must be down to earth.
I actually just really enjoy the act of creating-writing, acting, voiceovers, performing in front of audiences, etc.
I do have a passion for animals as well. My goal is to one day have a rescue for strays and abandoned animals.
