We were lucky to catch up with Jill Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jill, thanks for joining us today. In our experience, overnight success is usually the result of years of hard work laying the foundation for success, but unfortunately, it’s exactly this part of the story that most of the media ignores. So, we’d appreciate if you could open up about your growth story and the nitty, gritty details that went into scaling up.
I scaled up by shifting how I worked, not just how much I worked. In the beginning, like most entrepreneurs, I was doing everything myself and trading time for money. That worked for a while, but it also pushed me to where I wanted to throw the whole spa business away.
There was also a point where I realized I needed to pivot. The services I had been offering were no longer giving me the same results, business was declining and I could feel myself getting bored and burned out. That was a sign for me to step back, refocus, and shift into something that made more sense for where God wanted to take me.
The real turning point came when I started paying attention to what was being missed in businesses. New customers, Missed calls, slow follow-ups, leads that never got a response. I realized if I’m going through this, My spa community is feeling the same. We are lacking stable systems, not having the right systems in place. People were losing money in areas they were not even tracking. That is what led me into AI and automation.
Instead of trying to take on more clients or work longer hours, I invested in AI classes, Received my CPD Certification as a Certified AI Consultant. focused on building systems that could handle those gaps. AI receptionists, automated follow-ups, and lead capture systems allowed businesses to operate consistently, even when they were unavailable. That is where the growth came from.
I also scaled by using my own businesses as testing grounds. I did not just study AI, I applied it in real time. Once I saw the results, it became easier to package those systems and offer them to other business owners who needed the same solutions.
Scaling for me was not about doing more. It was about building smarter systems that allowed me and my clients to grow without burnout. Not only in my beauty business, I applied to my drug testing business. Who will answer the phone when I’m in the middle of drug testing or fingerprinting?
My growth came when I gave myself permission to pivot, refocus, and rebuild a business that worked for me, not one that depended on me. Real scaling begins when your business no longer rely on your constant presence to make money.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am Jill Williams, aka Jay-Jill, an AI Consultant and Automation Strategist and the founder of Digital Beauty AI Consulting and Jay-Jill Cosmetics. I help beauty, spa, and service-based businesses implement AI systems that increase revenue, capture leads, and streamline their day-to-day operations. My work focuses on practical solutions like AI receptionists, chatbots, and automated follow-up systems that keep businesses running even when they are not available.
I did not start in tech. My background is in the beauty industry as a licensed esthetician and product creator through my brand, Jay-Jill Cosmetics. I spent 7 years working directly with clients and customers, building relationships, and running multiple businesses, including Pure Screening Solutions. That hands-on experience showed me where businesses were losing time and money, especially when it came to missed calls, inconsistent follow-up, and manual processes that slowed everything down.
What led me into AI was not traditional. It started with me creating fun, animated glam dolls and digital done for you content. I was exploring creativity, visuals, and new ways to bring ideas to life. Before I knew it, I was deep in the AI space, straight down the AI rabbit hole I went, learning tools, testing systems, and seeing how powerful it could be beyond just content.
Over time, that curiosity turned into strategy. I began applying AI to my own businesses, not just for content, but for operations. That is when everything shifted. I realized I could use these tools to solve real business problems, not just create visuals.
What sets me apart is that I do not just teach AI, I apply it. Every system I offer has been tested in real business environments. I understand both sides, the service provider and the business owner, so I build solutions that actually make sense and produce results.
The problem I solve is simple but costly. Many businesses are losing revenue every day from missed opportunities. Calls go unanswered, leads go cold, and follow-ups fall through. I help put systems in place so that does not happen anymore.
What I am most proud of is my ability to pivot and evolve. I have built across industries, and I have learned how to move when something is no longer working. That has allowed me to stay relevant and continue growing without getting stuck.
I want people to know that my brand is built on real experience and real results. I am not here to overcomplicate AI. I am here to make it practical, accessible, and profitable for everyday spa and beauty professionals and business owners who are ready to grow but need better systems to do it. I also want people to know AI is not here to steal your job per say, it’s the lack of knowledge and learning all you can about AI, utilizing it as a tool. When used properly, it will help you work faster, give you and your staff time to complete other tasks that need to get completed. Personally, I hate answering the phone lol especially in a customer service role. Having an AI agent will not replace the smile and the personable one on one interaction but it will help alleviate the stress and bad attitudes of your front desk staff truth be told.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I was hacked in Sept 2024 losing 56k Facebook followers and I had rebuild from scratch. I am slowly bouncing back. I am rebuilding my audience by showing up consistently, even when I did not feel like I had everything figured out. In the beginning, I was simply sharing my work, my products, and my day-to-day experiences as a business owner in the beauty industry. I was not focused on perfection. I was focused on being present and staying visible.
As my businesses grew, my content started to evolve. I began sharing more behind the scenes, more real conversations, and more of what was actually happening in my journey. That is what helped me connect with people. It was not just about selling, it was about letting people see the process.
When I transitioned into AI, I approached it the same way. I did not wait until I felt like an expert. I shared what I was learning, what I was testing, and how I was applying it in real time. That transparency helped me grow a new audience while bringing my existing audience along with me.
I also stayed consistent with my messaging. Whether it was beauty, business, or AI, everything I shared was rooted in helping people improve, grow, or think differently about what they were doing.
For anyone just starting out, my biggest advice is to stop overthinking and start showing up. You do not need a perfect brand or a large following to begin. You need consistency and clarity. Let the people see you and tell them your story.
Focus on sharing what you know, what you are learning, and how you can help others. Talk to your audience like real people, not like numbers. And most importantly, do not wait until everything is perfect, because growth happens while you are building, not before.
Building an audience is not about going viral. It is about being visible, being consistent, and being real long enough for people to trust you.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I stay connected to my clients by being intentional about communication and consistency. For me, it is not just about making a sale, it is about building a relationship that continues beyond the initial service.
In the beginning, it can be as simple as checking in, responding to messages, and making sure people feel acknowledged. As you grow, you can start adding systems that help you stay consistent without feeling overwhelmed.
I personally use a mix of simple tools like SMS text and email to stay in touch with my clients. Whether it is a follow-up, a reminder, or sharing something helpful, those small touchpoints go a long way in keeping the connection strong.
As my business evolved, I partnered with Farmasi and now I’m a Global Farmasi Beauty Influencer. I wanted to stay connected to skincare, beauty and health & wellness. I added more structured systems to support how I reach my customers, but I never removed the personal side of it. Automation helps with consistency, but people still want to feel like they matter, not like they are just another number.
I also focus on creating value beyond the sale. I share updates, tips, and tools that can help my clients continue to grow. That keeps the relationship active instead of transactional.
Brand loyalty comes from trust and results. When people see that what you offer actually works and that you show up for them consistently, they stay. It is not about doing anything complicated. It is about being reliable and making people feel supported.
For new entrepreneurs, start simple. Stay in touch, be consistent, and take care of the people who trust you. As you grow, you can build systems to support that, but the foundation will always be how you treat people and AI can’t touch that.
