Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jibri Ross. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jibri , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One of the toughest things about entrepreneurship is that there is almost always unexpected problems that come up – problems that you often can’t read about in advance, can’t prepare for, etc. Have you had such and experience and if so, can you tell us the story of one of those unexpected problems you’ve encountered?
One of the most pivotal challenges I faced on my entrepreneurial rise was the tornado we encountered last May. As I was preparing to expand my product line, that unexpected storm disrupted everything. In that moment, I was forced to pivot—something I hadn’t fully anticipated or planned for. But with six years in the locks industry, anchored in clarity around my goals and a deep determination, I didn’t let this upheaval define me. Instead, I chose to let that disruption be the fertile ground where I planted new roots—roots that would fuel a deeper, more resilient expansion.
This pivot became the soil for my next evolution. I leaned into resilience, not just in surviving but in thriving, and I infused this energy into my digital content—especially my YouTube platform—where I share my story authentically. It’s more than just a return to business; it’s a testament to trusting the process. I am showing that this is not just about what happens in the chair—it is about a lifelong journey of growth, development, and empowerment. It’s a code of conduct and a rule of principle that I live by—one that allows me and everyone in my community to believe that, with trust in the experience, we can continue to evolve, grow, and step into our power at every stage.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Jibri Ross, and I am the founder of TKE, a beauty and wellness brand rooted in transformation, discipline, and empowerment. I specialize in holistic lock care, healthy hair growth, beauty education, and luxury client experiences that go beyond aesthetics. What began as a passion for hair and self-expression evolved into a deeper mission centered around helping people reconnect with their confidence, identity, and personal power.
I entered this industry over six years ago with a desire to create more than just hairstyles. I wanted to create experiences that made people feel seen, elevated, and restored from the inside out. Over time, I realized that hair—especially within the lock community—is deeply connected to culture, spirituality, healing, and self-image. That understanding transformed the way I approached my work. I no longer saw myself as just a stylist; I saw myself as someone helping clients nurture themselves through intentional care and self-investment.
Through TKE, I provide a range of services and creative offerings including lock maintenance, holistic hair care treatments, education, beauty consultations, content creation, and the development of future product lines designed to support healthy hair and wellness lifestyles. My long-term vision is to expand TKE into a full beauty and wellness ecosystem that combines luxury salon experiences, education, products, mentorship, and community impact.
What sets me apart is the level of intention and authenticity I bring into everything I create. My work is not transactional for me—it is transformational. I believe people can feel when someone truly cares about their craft and their growth. I strive to create an environment where clients feel safe, empowered, educated, and valued, not just serviced. Every appointment, every conversation, and every piece of content I share is rooted in purpose.
One of the defining moments in my journey came after experiencing a devastating tornado during a pivotal season of business expansion. That experience forced me to pivot unexpectedly and rebuild mentally, emotionally, and professionally. Instead of allowing the setback to stop me, I used it as fuel to evolve my brand and deepen my resilience. It reminded me that entrepreneurship is not just about success—it is about adaptability, faith, vision, and endurance. That chapter strengthened both my leadership and my commitment to building something lasting.
I am most proud of my growth—not only as a business owner, but as a woman learning how to lead with wisdom, structure, and authenticity. I am proud that I have continued building even through uncertainty, and that I have remained committed to excellence while evolving personally and professionally. I am also proud of the community that continues to resonate with my story because it confirms that people are not only connecting to the services, but to the heart behind the brand.
The main thing I want potential clients, supporters, and followers to know is that TKE represents evolution. It represents becoming the highest version of yourself despite obstacles, setbacks, or limitations. My brand is built on resilience, discipline, creativity, and empowerment. Whether someone comes to me for a service, a product, education, or inspiration through content, I want them to leave feeling elevated, encouraged, and reminded of their own value.
This is bigger than beauty for me. It is about legacy, impact, and creating spaces where people can grow confidently into who they are meant to become.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I grew my clientele by staying true to my business mindset from day one. I’ve always been a person about business—whether I was in the classroom teaching, a student perfecting my craft, or working in roles like Instacart or Uber, I was always delivering service with intention. Every step, every interaction, I reminded the world of who I knew I was—and I let the world remind me of who I didn’t want to be. I put my essence in front of them, making every interaction a reflection of my purpose. This, in turn, became my superpower. It gave me a deep resilience, a foundation I could build on—one where my brand wasn’t just a service but an extension of who I am. That consistency, paired with authentic connection, is what became the secret sauce for growing my clientele and sustaining my vision.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
My method of brand loyalty begins with a deep commitment to healthy hair care solutions first. I don’t just offer a service; I create a bridge between care and connection. Second, I anchor that connection in something bigger—a communal reason. When you choose me as your loctician or choose my products, you’re not just selecting a solution—you’re choosing heritage, growth, self-discovery, and empowerment. By establishing this kind of brand loyalty, I don’t just keep clients close to me—I help them stay close to their own sense of purpose. Each person feels that they are part of something bigger—an inner work that keeps them aligned with themselves. This business model lets me stay authentic, inviting those who naturally seek this type of depth to call my space a home. And above all, it’s rooted in experience—every part of my brand is something I have lived, something that keeps me aligned, and something that inspires others to walk their own holistic journeys. In this way, we build a legacy, anchored in evolution, resilience, and a brand you can trust for generations.
