Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jevon Kincaid. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jevon , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
My name is Jevon Kincaid and I want to tell my story on what made me want to become a mobile detailer. 2020. I was in the middle of cleaning my car at the time and I was just sitting there just thinking about certain things and I was scrolling on social media one day, and I noticed that I was seeing people actually getting their cars detailed which I knew was a thing, but I didn’t know how much of a thing it was at the time. I seen that as I started scroll on social media more and more it just started to pop up all the time, and I’ve always been the type to make sure I kept a clean car from my very first car when I was in high school. I kept it clean. I stayed at the car wash every day every other day even had friends that if we didn’t do nothing else we cleaned all our cars on daily. I was talking to a friend and I told him, I’m thinking about starting a detailing business. I want to start cleaning, other people cars besides my car. I know if I can make my car look good. I could make other people cars look good so I started doing some research. Ended up booking an appointment with the mobile detailer in my city he came to my house. I had the car completely cleaned out for him. He did a interior and exterior job. The price wasn’t high at all. The company did a phenomenal job and I was just trying to learn the basics of doing a mobile car detail.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Since I’ve always been infatuated with cars, I knew when I got my very first vehicle. I would always keep my cars clean. Everyone knew me for having a clean car, nice black, shiny car and I just decided to take things further into going into having my own mobile detailing business. I provide a ton of services, including interior, detailing, deep interior detailing stain removal, headliner, cleaning seat, removal, exterior cleaning, waxing polishing ceramic coating, engine bay cleaning. What makes me stand out from other details in my opinion is that once I’m done I allow my customers to do a full overlook of the vehicle. I let them know. Hey, anything that you see that you might want me to touch up, let me know I’ll do it. It’s no problem because you’re paying for the services. It’s times to where I noticed things that’s wrong with the car and I let my customers know upfront like hey I noticed this or I noticed that so that when it comes down to the end results, it’s not like well you miss this spot or you didn’t do this or you didn’t do that if something is poorly damaged, or just can’t be fixed due to me just cleaning on the vehicle of the car. The things that make me most proud about the way I go about detailing is I take my time? I’m very passionate in my work the final results of how my customers be amazed to how their car turned out from when I first got my hands on it. Just to see a total makeover and knowing you can make a lot of people happy and satisfied with the work ethics in the material that you use to take their car from being just a non-taking care of core to showroom floor car

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
The way I built my audience on social media came from constantly posting my work, no matter what type of vehicle it was no matter what type of service it received, I just constantly posted my work to show that I was constantly working constantly getting clientele constantly trying to stay busy, just kept feeding social media more and more photos and videos and therefore, by time people see that you are consistent with a bunch of work they might say this guy is really busy. I might wanna get him to clean my car one day. Also another thing that you can get yourself into as well is purchasing ads. In the beginning I didn’t believe in purchasing ads. It took me about 3 1/2 years before I purchased my first ad to kind of boost my post to reach out to more people, but in the long run, it really does help market your business and reach new clients.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
On a day-to-day basics, I try my best to market myself in my business by just simply wearing either hoodies or T-shirts or long sleeves with my business information on their front and back or keeping business cards on me leaving them in certain places stores in area because you just don’t know who’s always looking. Eight times where I could be in a store I’m waiting in line if someone’s behind me and they reading the back of my hoodie and they may say hey do you Detail cards and can I get your information and that’s a key way to marketing yourself..
