Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jessa Davidson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Jessa thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Growing up, I have always wanted to own a business and have something to be proud of work hard for. I always thought that business would be a private accounting firm however, after a few college classes I realized that accounting might not be the way to go. The idea of owning a business took the back burner for a while until this past year. I was having a conversation with my cousin wondering what his plans would be after high school. He said he wasn’t sure but wanted to do lawn care just needed to find a business that he could stick with for a while. Nothing really came of that conversation but going into the new year I had a mindset shift. My mindset was “you never know what can happen if you don’t try.” This mindset gave me the push I needed to get things moving. After sitting down and thinking about how this could really work or what needs to be done to succeed, I made the decision to chase my dream and everything has gone great since then.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Jessa Davidson, I am 21 years old, born and raised in Aiken SC. I am currently in college at USCA graduating this May. I grew up doing Gymnastics with many state and regional medals. I have always been a hard worker at everything that I do and go above and beyond in any way possible. This is what sets me apart, my drive to perfection, and desire to make customers happy. The services that I offer are your basic lawn maintenance services including but not limited to mowing, edging, weed eating, seasonal cleanups and flower beds. Something that I would want potential customers to know about me is that while we are a brand new business, we are highly motivated to provide fast, good quality service!
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think what is building my reputation within the market is my relationships and creating a personal connection with customers. What is important when growing a business and creating a sense of community is not only to be knowledgeable in your profession but also being able to make connections with people which has really helped me reach more customers.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients so far has been through a networking group here in Aiken called BNI. We meet each week and get to know each other’s business, how we can best refer them and also getting to know each other personally. This has been a great step in creating a good customer base.
