We were lucky to catch up with Jennifer Cancel recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jennifer, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
In my quest as a resin artist, I remember the first time I attempted to preserve flowers in epoxy resin. It definitely did not go well and there was still a lot for me to learn as a floral preservation artist. My sister had just gotten married and gave me her bouquet to take home and preserve. I had no idea how to keep the flowers fresh or what the preservation process even was. But because she trusted me with her most important flowers from her wedding day messing up wasn’t an option. The result was- okay. As time went on my skills grew. Trial and error became my canvas, each mistake a drop in the ocean leading to mastery. Through countless blooms cast in resin, I learned not just the craft but the language of patience and observation. Each piece became a chapter, documenting my evolution from novice to artisan, where imperfections were strokes of uniqueness. In preserving flowers in resin, I found not only a craft but a narrative—a story whispered by petals held in suspended time, echoing the journey of an artist discovering the art of floral preservation.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
