Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jenna-mae White. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jenna-mae, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Have you signed with an agent or manager? Why or why not?
I have been extremely fortunate with the team I am working with. I recently signed with Sovereign Talent Group, an extremely successful talent agency with a wonderful roster of talented individuals. I am also managed by Hyphenate Creative Management – who represent artists within the music & broadway space as well as the TV & Film area. Both parties are so supportive and encouraging and it’s such an important aspect of the business to have a team that you feel you can fall back on but also feel believe in you truly as an actor and performer. I am so grateful to them. I decided to work with both Sovereign and Hyphenate because I felt their ethos truly aligned with mine. I have a great passion for both film and TV as well as theatre. I really felt I needed my team to be in both spaces and also have a love for both aspects of performing, which they both do.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I moved from the UK to Los Angeles to study acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, building on a foundation in theatre with the Royal Shakespeare Company and Frantic Assembly in London. While my early training was rooted in live performance, I was drawn to the world of Film and TV, which led me to pursue further studies in the U.S. Since graduating, I’ve had the privilege of working on a range of projects, including multiple features for Tubi and Lifetime. More recently, I’ve expanded into the fashion campaign space, collaborating with renowned brands like YSL, Aallyn, and Rosebibi. Though I’m still early in my career, I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had and excited to continue growing as an actor. The journey has been thrilling, and I look forward to all the possibilities ahead.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist for me is watching a project I’ve worked so hard on come to fruition. With the Rosebibi campaign, I had the unique opportunity to not only star in the campaign but also serve as the creative director. This gave me the freedom to conceptualize the vision, guide the entire process, and even oversee the final edit. Being involved at every stage—from initial concept to the finished product—was an incredibly fulfilling experience. It truly allowed me to appreciate the depth of work and collaboration that goes into creating something special. Seeing it all come together, knowing the effort and passion that went into each detail, made the whole journey even more rewarding. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love what I do.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
The audition process for the *Dear Evan Hansen* national tour was a true test of resilience. With 27,000 people applying and only 10 being selected for in-person auditions, I was honored to make it to the final three after a highly competitive process. While I was ultimately told they would prefer to keep me in mind for future productions, it was a bittersweet moment. It’s tough when you want something so badly, but I’ve learned that when one door closes, another opens. It wasn’t the right time for me, but the entire experience was invaluable. It challenged me, strengthened my belief in my abilities, and reminded me that setbacks can lead to even greater opportunities. The process gave me immense faith in myself and reinforced my commitment to the craft, knowing that the right role will come when the time is right.
