Jenna, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Looking back, what’s an important lesson you learned at a prior job?

An important lesson I learned from a previous job is that communication is absolutely key. In that role, there were constant breakdowns in communication, which led to service failures, frustration among team members, and growing resentment. That experience taught me how critical clear, timely, and transparent communication is—not only for delivering excellent service, but also for maintaining a positive, respectful, and efficient work environment.”

Perfectly Paired Planner is more than just a business to me—it’s a reflection of who I am, what I love, and the purpose I’ve found in helping others celebrate life’s most meaningful moments.
I didn’t build Perfectly Paired Planner simply to plan events. I built it to create experiences that people carry with them forever.
From the very beginning, I’ve believed that every event tells a story. It’s not just about the décor, the timeline, or the logistics. It’s about the emotions, the people, and the memories being created in real time. My role is to protect those moments—to ensure everything behind the scenes runs seamlessly so my clients can be fully present in their day.
Why I Started Perfectly Paired Planner
My passion for planning grew naturally from my love of design, organization, and bringing people together. I found myself drawn to the details others might overlook—the flow of a room, the feeling created by lighting, the placement of a single chair, or the timing of a meaningful moment.
I realized quickly that planning wasn’t just something I was good at—it was something I was meant to do.
Perfectly Paired Planner was created to offer clients not just a service, but support, guidance, and peace of mind. I wanted to be the person who could take the stress off their shoulders and replace it with confidence and excitement.

I am both the visionary and the executor. I design with intention, but I also manage timelines, coordinate vendors, and solve problems before my clients ever see them. Every decision is made with purpose. Every detail matters.
To me, “perfectly paired” isn’t about perfection—it’s about alignment. It’s about pairing the right people, the right elements, and the right energy to create something unforgettable.
What fulfills me most is watching everything come together. Seeing a client walk into their space for the first time. Watching a couple share their first dance. Knowing that all the planning, coordination, and behind-the-scenes work made that moment possible.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

One of the most important steps in building the reputation of Perfectly Paired Planner in the Kansas City market began before the business ever officially opened—by intentionally attending networking events and becoming present within the local wedding and event community.
Before launching Perfectly Paired Planner, I made it a priority to attend industry mixers, venue open houses, vendor showcases, and networking events throughout the Kansas City area. This allowed me to build genuine relationships with venue owners, photographers, DJs, florists, and other event professionals long before I was asking for referrals or business.
By showing up consistently, introducing myself professionally, and supporting other vendors, I established trust and familiarity within the industry. People were able to see my passion, professionalism, and commitment firsthand. I wasn’t just entering the market—I was becoming part of the community.
These early connections became the foundation of Perfectly Paired Planner’s growth. Vendors began recommending my services, venues welcomed collaboration, and opportunities for styled shoots and pop-up events naturally followed. Because relationships were built on authenticity and mutual respect, Perfectly Paired Planner was able to grow with strong support from the very community it was created to serve.
Attending networking events also gave me valuable insight into what venues needed, where gaps existed in the market, and how Perfectly Paired Planner could help fill those gaps—particularly by bringing visibility and clients to new and struggling venues through curated events.
Building a reputation didn’t happen overnight. It was built by showing up, listening, learning, and supporting others before expecting anything in return. That foundation of relationships, professionalism, and community involvement is what helped establish Perfectly Paired Planner as a trusted and respected name in the Kansas City wedding and event industry.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?

One of the most important parts of managing a team is making sure they know their worth. When team members feel valued, respected, and appreciated, they take pride in their work and stay motivated. I make it a priority to recognize their contributions, trust their abilities, and remind them that their role is essential to the success of every event.
High morale comes from respect, clear communication, and appreciation. When your team knows they matter, they will always show up at their best.
