Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jeanette Wagner. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Jeanette thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the backstory of how you established your own practice.
I had just moved over to the states, now 4.5 years ago, leaving my busy London life and career behind, to start my new life with my husband. I was still in the middle of my immigration process, which meant I wasn’t allowed to work nor drive anywhere, so essentially I was just waiting for my husband to come home, which was a 360 from the life I had in London, and I became very negative and somewhat depressed. It was at my rock bottom, I decided to start my lifecoaching business, as a way to save myself and for me to have something to focus on in this new country and daily life I found myself in. I used my own struggles to create material for workshops and that’s how I started my business , by offering workshops on zoom. I knew if I was struggling with my mind, and the transition, lots of other people were struggling with theirs and whatever changes they were going through. So, I started my business simply by reaching out to contacts I had around the world and former colleagues from L’Orèal, my former workplace. I networked as much as I could online and through word of mouth. When I eventually got my green card and was able to work, I utilized my part time job as a way to connect and meet people, and offered my services to anyone I felt would be interested. I just put myself out there. One thing I’d do differently is to say yes more. A lot more. Immerse myself in the community more. Doubt myself less and To just go for it. Be willing to fail a lot, to learn a lot.Go out and meet as many people at networking events as possible. You’ll get more clear on who you are as a business woman , what you offer and who you want to serve.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
LIFECOACHING has always been a love of mine. In my precious career, I was responsible for the training, development & education for 2 beauty brands within L’Orèal, for the UK& Ireland, which was over 1300 people. That exposed me to many different personalities, cultures, generations & learning styles, both in the training room and the boardroom. So in a way to improve my skills as an educator & people connector, I took a life coaching certification back in 2014. I truly fell in love with coaching and what it can do for you, both personally & professionally. It wasn’t until I left London and moved to the US, I started my business (2018). And since then, I have become an NLP practitioner, (neuro linguistic programming) which allows me to help my clients on a much deeper level, to bring about change, as NLP is really the instruction manual for the brain. Once you know how to manage the brain, you know how to create any result in your life. I coach private people 1:1, I coach groups and I coach leaderships within bigger corporations. Having lived in 5 countries, and coming from a multicultural background, I speak 5 languages and so I can understand, connect with & serve many different people from many different backgrounds.
I am passionate about helping people live their most empowered lives and that is why the LIFECOACHING services I provide is a mix of 1:1 coaching sessions and “how-to’s”. The “How-to’s is where I teach my clients concepts and tools to apply to their life outside of their coaching sessions with me, to help bring about long lasting change at the root.
I offer different coaching packages to support my clients in their journey, ranging from a 2 month contract to 6 months, or longer if you wish. You can find my service menu on my Instagram. I use my Instagram as my website. I believe In challenging the status quo. I’ve built my business on word of mouth, so my digital footprint is minimal.
I coach people who are committed to change, willing to try a new way and challenge themselves. I have a diverse clientele. Diverse in age and in lives & goals. I coach clients on anything from anxiety, emotional suffering, leaving your 9-5 and starting your own business, going through divorce, change/transition, business owners who struggle with balance, or taking it to the next level and managing the brain, doctors and medical practitioners managing stress, Immigrants who are adjusting to a new life, weight management, making decisions, confidence, thought work, phobias, public speaking anxiety, how to communicate efficiently, how to worry less, how to push through procrastination, reprogramming the subconscious, you name it. Everyone can benefit from coaching. Coaching helps you with a different perspective. And it helps spot the grey areas. I do causal coaching, so it’s not just about the action, and taking action to get the result. There’s always something behind the inability to take action, something behind the procrastination. I help you identify what that is, so that action becomes easier for you. There’s a powerful inner commentary, that often runs unconsciously, and those thoughts create the emotion in your body and that emotion/ feeling, either stops you from taking action or propels you into a reaction you don’t really want. Thoughts create feelings, feelings drive action and action produce results! Simple , but not easy and that is what coaching is for.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
