Hi Jason, thanks for joining us today. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard.
Interior architectecture and design is a profession that encompasses a veriety of disciplines ranging from building, remodeling, to decorating and furniture design. Most Designers Specialize in a specific field such as residential interiors or kitchen and bath remodels. Some Interior designers are little more that decorators or stylists. What Makes me different is the fact that I have the ability to design every aspect of an project from custom built interiors, to the individual furniture pieces within the interior, including custom lighting, fixtures, and architecture… Even the building itself. I design it, And I build it by hand from raw materials. Every detail is painstakingly conceptualized and handcrafted from the ground up. I do residential, commercial, hospitality, and experiential designs. You just can’t get that level of service and ecpertise anywhere.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I was a professional musician for many years. I was doing relatively well until my son was diagnosed with cysistic fibrosis. Medical bills were piling up and my music career wasn’t paying the bills so I decided to go back to school and try to get into something a little more lucrative and stable. I had always had an interest in architecture and design so I chose that field of study I started my company Jason Chase Design straight out of college after getting a degree in interior architecture and design. After my first few jobs designing interiors I quickly realized The need in the industry for custom built products such as furniture, railings, Doors, Various millwork, Lighting fixtures…. The list went on and on and on. Having a background as a welder and woodworker, I decided that I would open a custom fabrication facility called Weldwood Furniture and Design in order to service the needs of my interior projects. Before I knew it, other designers end owners were contacting me to fulfill their need for custom furnishings. Now I have a small boutique design studio at which I offer An array of interior design and architectural services with the ability to manufacture and fabricate all manner of custom furnishings, As well your traditional interior design, Interior decorating, And architectural design services. I even do the occasional exterior design and landscape designs. Now Jason Chase Design operates along side Weldwood Furniture and Design as an all inclusive Interior and architectural design service.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When my son was born both myself and my wife at the time were in college. While she was in class, I would stay on campus and carry our baby around. Taking care of him Until in between classes where she could nurse him. And then while I was in class she would take care of him. When he was diagnosed with cysistic fibrosis, My wife had to drop out of school because he was hospitalized 4 weeks or even months at a time. I would sleep on the hospital floor in order to be there for my wife. And my baby and then go to school in the morning. I did this so I could earn a degree In order to get a better job and to take care of my family. I would do my term papers on a laptop Next to a hospital bed, eat out of a vending machine, Work odd jobs for extra money, And take care of My wife Who was exhausted from constant medical needs of our child. After I said I didn’t have any clients, no connections, and I needed to take care of my family. I knocked on doors, Went to local businesses, And eventually I found a restaurant that wanted to do some renovations. I offered my services Cheap! And I used the money that I made Two make some business cards And purchase a few tools. I use the business cards to network and the tools to do more projects, and then used the money from those jobs to reinvest in my business…. Years later, Here I am!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I have so many ideas in my head it’s never ending. There’s not enough time in the day or even the year to do Fraction of what I want to accomplish. And even with infinite time, The visions that I have require funding. That is why in order to push the boundaries of what I’m able to accomplish creatively, I need to grow not only in creative capabilities but in the level Of patronage that it takes to accomplish very great things. People don’t just fund amazing and incredible works of art without a track record. That is why I must constantly prove myself and push the boundaries of what I am doing in order . to attract the next level of attention. My goal is to Never stop growing in the direction of creative expression and size and sophistication of the projects that I produce.
