We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jasmin Alibegović. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jasmin below.
Hi Jasmin, thanks for joining us today. Alright – so having the idea is one thing, but going from idea to execution is where countless people drop the ball. Can you talk to us about your journey from idea to execution?
I am Jasmin Alibegović, I was born in 1996 in Dubrovnik (Republic of Croatia), and I have lived in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) since my early childhood. I was interested in journalism from a young age, so in my childhood I bought newspapers, cut interesting articles and put them in folders. It was a kind of hobby for me at the time, which over time grew into a life calling.
My first serious steps in journalism were in 2014, when I started writing for the youth magazine “Karike” published by the Youth Press Association in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This was followed by engagements in several well-known media: portal federalna.ba, online magazine Žurnal, and Dnevni avaz. I am currently a freelance journalist and contributor to the Al Jazeera Balkans portal. I am a member of the Association of BH Journalists and the Balkan Network of Science Journalists and winner of the BigBang Challenge Heroes of the Generation award in the category of media and media influence.
In my journalistic work, I mostly write about politics, economy, science, culture and sports, and each engagement represents a new and special experience for me. I am very happy and satisfied to be doing a job that I love. I certainly want to present good and positive stories to the public in the future and progress even more in my career.
I believe that it is important to always have high goals and not to be satisfied with the achievement of one goal, but to set a new goal that will encourage us to action and persistence. After fulfilling one goal, I automatically sets new goals for himself, which, in my opinion, is the secret of success. Also, in everything I had the support of my family, which is my biggest support in life and to whom I thank.

Jasmin, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I believe that only a good man can be a good journalist. Through journalism, I have the opportunity to meet great interlocutors, and I am especially proud of conversations with scientists, because knowledge changes the world.
It is also a great pleasure for me to follow cultural events, and I would especially single out the Sarajevo Film Festival and the AJB DOC Film Festival, which are held in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina and offer a rich and varied program. As a journalist, I am honored that through my work I have the opportunity to watch excellent films and meet the European and world film elite.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Professional and quality work is always recognized. I am happy and grateful that I had the opportunity to learn from older and more experienced editors and journalists whose advice helped me a lot to become recognizable.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Also, I am active on social networks and there I write a lot and share my journalistic texts, which the public appreciates.
