We recently connected with Jarmarcus Collins and have shared our conversation below.
Jarmarcus , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
Honestly, most of it came from doing it before I felt ready. A lot of learning didn’t happen in classrooms or books—it happened through experience, trial and error, and conversations with people who were already ahead of me.
On BroTalk, that’s really the theme: most of us didn’t have a perfect roadmap. We learned by trying things, failing at some of them, adjusting, and then trying again. Every mistake ended up being a lesson if you were willing to pay attention to it.
would have done three things earlier:
1. Ask more questions.
Sometimes pride or insecurity makes you act like you already know something. But growth speeds up when you’re willing to say, “I don’t know—teach me.”
2. Find mentors sooner.
Somebody who’s already walked the road can save you years of trial and error.
3. Take action faster.
A lot of people wait until everything is perfect. The truth is, clarity usually comes after you start moving.
What skills were most essential?
For me, the big ones were:
• Listening Not just hearing people, but understanding perspectives.
• Adaptability – Being able to adjust when things don’t go how you planned.
• Consistency Showing up even when you don’t feel motivated.
• Communication – Being able to express ideas clearly and connect with people.
Those skills matter in almost anything whether it’s leadership, ministry, business, or conversations like we have on BroTalk.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
For those who may not know me yet, here’s a little about me.
I’m someone who’s passionate about helping people grow—spiritually, mentally, and personally. A lot of what I do comes from my background in ministry, leadership, and real conversations with people about life. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to speak, teach, and connect with people who are trying to navigate faith, purpose, relationships, and everyday challenges.
That’s really how BroTalk came about. It started from the idea that sometimes the best growth happens through honest, authentic conversations—the kind of conversations brothers, friends, and mentors have when they’re being real with each other.
How I got into this work
For me, it didn’t start as a “brand” or a business plan. It started with a calling to serve and speak into people’s lives. Through ministry, preaching, mentoring, and leadership opportunities, I realized that people were looking for guidance that felt real and relatable—not just theoretical or overly polished.
So platforms like BroTalk became a space where we could talk about life, faith, growth, and struggles in a way that people actually connect with.
What we offer
Through my work and platforms like BroTalk, I focus on:
• Real conversations about life and faith
• Encouragement and personal growth
• Leadership and mindset development
• Spiritual insight and biblical perspective
• Authentic discussions about challenges people face
Whether it’s through podcasts, speaking, teaching, or content, the goal is always the same: help people grow and think deeper about their lives and purpose.
The problems I try to help people solve
A lot of people today are dealing with:
• Feeling stuck or unsure about their direction
• Trying to balance faith with real-life challenges
• Looking for honest guidance instead of surface-level advice
• Wanting community and conversation that actually builds them up
What I try to do is create space for those conversations, offer perspective, and encourage people to step into the deeper version of who they’re meant to be.
What sets me apart
I think what sets me apart is authenticity. I’m not trying to present myself as someone who has everything figured out. Instead, I try to speak from real experiences, real lessons, and real faith.
The goal isn’t perfection—it’s growth, honesty, and meaningful dialogue.
What I’m most proud of
What I’m most proud of is impact. When someone tells you a conversation, a message, or something you shared helped them see life differently or encouraged them during a tough season, that means everything.
It reminds you that what you’re doing is bigger than content—it’s connection and influence in people’s lives.

What I want people to know about me and my work
At the end of the day, my work is about purpose and people.
I want people to know that when they engage with BroTalk or anything connected to my work, they’re stepping into a space that’s about:
• Growth
• Real conversations
• Faith and purpose
• Encouragement and challenge
The goal is simple: help people think deeper, grow stronger, and walk more confidently in who they’re called to be.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One story from my journey that really illustrates resilience goes back to moments where things didn’t go the way I expected.
There have been seasons where I felt like I was putting in the work—serving, preparing, showing up—and still questioning whether what I was doing was really making an impact. When you’re in leadership, ministry, or even building something like a platform or a podcast, there are times when the results don’t show up as quickly as the effort you’re putting in.
I remember a season where I had to really wrestle with that. There were moments where I wondered if I should slow down, pivot, or even step back. But what kept me grounded was remembering why I started in the first place—the purpose behind serving people, encouraging growth, and having real conversations that help people navigate life and faith.
Instead of quitting, I leaned into the process. I kept preparing, kept speaking, kept having conversations, and kept building spaces like BroTalk, where people could engage in honest dialogue about life.
Over time, I started hearing from people who said something I shared helped them through a tough moment, shifted their perspective, or encouraged them spiritually. Those moments reminded me that impact doesn’t always show up immediately—but consistency and faithfulness eventually reveal it.
What that experience taught me about resilience is that resilience isn’t always about pushing harder. Sometimes it’s about staying committed to your purpose even when the progress feels slow.
You learn to trust the process, stay faithful to what you’re called to do, and understand that the seeds you plant today may show fruit later than you expected.
BroTalk takeaway:
Resilience isn’t just surviving hard moments—it’s continuing to show up with purpose even when the outcome isn’t clear yet.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yes, there is definitely a mission driving my creative journey.
At the core, my goal is to create spaces where real conversations can happen—conversations that help people grow spiritually, mentally, and personally. A lot of people today are navigating life without guidance, without honest dialogue, and sometimes without community. What drives me is the desire to help fill that gap.
Through platforms like BroTalk, my mission is to bring together faith, wisdom, and real-life experiences in a way that people can actually relate to. It’s not about talking at people—it’s about having conversations that challenge us, encourage us, and help us think deeper about our purpose and direction.
Another big part of the mission is impact.
I want the work I do—whether it’s conversations, teaching, or content—to help people:
• Strengthen their faith
• Think differently about challenges
• Grow into better leaders, men, and individuals
• Recognize the purpose and potential within their lives
If someone walks away from something we discuss on BroTalk feeling more encouraged, more thoughtful, or more motivated to grow, then I feel like the mission is being accomplished.
At the end of the day, the mission is simple:
To use my voice, experiences, and platform to spark meaningful conversations that inspire growth, faith, and purpose in people’s lives.
BroTalk takeaway:
The journey isn’t just about creating content—it’s about creating impact and helping people become who they’re meant to be. 🎙️
