We recently connected with Jane Marryshow and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jane thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission ( Creative Solutions by Jane) is to empower individuals—especially women—to live intentional, creative, and fulfilling lives by helping them monetize their stories, experiences, and expertise through digital products. This mission is deeply personal to me because it’s rooted in my journey of overcoming adversity and finding freedom through self-sufficiency.
Over twenty years ago, I was in an emotionally abusive relationship, struggling to find a way out for myself and my two children. During that time, journaling became my lifeline. Writing everything down helped me process my emotions, regain clarity, and create a plan to rebuild my life. Through journaling, I found the strength to set aside money for my escape plan, which ultimately gave me the confidence to leave. That experience taught me two powerful lessons: self-reflection’s transformative power and financial independence’s importance.
After leaving the relationship, I took bold steps to reclaim my life. I went back to school, earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and started selling fashion jewelry to supplement my income. I also wrote my first book, Mash ‘De’ Brakes: You are in Control to share my story and the stories of other women who found the courage to leave abusive relationships. These experiences showed me how critical it is to have tools and resources that foster clarity, confidence, and independence.
Through my business, Creative Solutions BY Jane , I create digital products—journals, planners, templates, and courses—that help women and entrepreneurs build sustainable income streams and achieve self-sufficiency. Every product I design is infused with purpose and intent because I know firsthand how powerful it is to have tools that help you organize your thoughts, set goals, and take actionable steps toward your dreams.
For me, this mission is about more than just creating products—it’s about fostering a community of mindful, sustainable income and creating lasting impact. I want to empower others to transform their lives, just as I transformed mine. Through my work, I aim to help people share their gifts with the world, and build the freedom they deserve. That’s why this mission is so meaningful to me—it’s not just what I do; it’s who I am.

Jane , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Creative Solutions by Jane. My journey into digital product creation began unexpectedly while designing workbooks in Canva for Domestic Violence Survivors. A colleague pointed out that these were, in fact, digital products, which sparked my interest in exploring Canva’s potential further. Witnessing many professionals struggle with visual communication inspired me to become a Canva Coach, aiming to help others share their expertise through engaging, professionally designed products.

I specialize in transforming clients’ expertise into profitable digital products, such as guided journals, online courses, and eBooks. By organizing content, crafting tailored strategies, and designing professional materials, I help clients turn their knowledge into income.
What Sets Creative Solutions by Jane Apart:
Our focus on empowerment, transformation, and community involvement distinguishes us. Beyond offering products and services, we are committed to giving back. For instance, last Christmas, my sisters and I, along with other donors, curated and donated 12 gift baskets filled with self-care items, journals, blankets, and treats to a local domestic violence shelter. This year, we’ve created an Amazon Wish List to facilitate contributions, aiming to donate 60 gift baskets.

I’m most proud of the positive impact my work has had on clients, particularly in helping them reclaim their power and create the lives they deserve. Seeing clients’ faces light up as they hold their finished products or achieve personal breakthroughs is a constant reminder of the power of resilience and creativity.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn was that my past defined my future. For years, I carried the weight of shame and guilt from being in an emotionally abusive relationship. I believed that my experiences made me less worthy, less capable, and destined to stay stuck in survival mode. I thought my story was something to hide, not something that could inspire or empower others.
The turning point came when I finally shared ‘The Slap’—a moment from my past that I had kept buried for years. I posted it on social media, terrified of judgment, but instead, I was met with overwhelming support and encouragement. That’s when I realized that my story wasn’t a burden; it was a tool for transformation. I began to see that my past didn’t define me—it shaped me into someone who could help others navigate their challenges.
Unlearning this belief allowed me to step into my purpose. I wrote my book, MASH ‘DE’ BRAKES: You Are In Control, which shares stories of eight women who left abusive relationships. I also created journals and digital products to help others heal and thrive. I now see my story as a source of strength, not shame, and it’s the foundation of my mission to empower women to reclaim their power and create the lives they deserve.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the most defining moments of my resilience came when I decided to leave an emotionally abusive relationship after years of feeling trapped. At the time, I was a mother of two young children, struggling to make sense of my life and unsure of how to move forward. I felt isolated, overwhelmed, and, at times, hopeless. But deep down, I knew I had to find a way out—not just for myself, but for my kids.
Journaling became my lifeline during this time. I started writing everything down—my fears, my dreams, and even the smallest victories. It helped me process my emotions and regain a sense of clarity. I also began secretly setting aside money, little by little, as part of an escape plan. It wasn’t easy, and there were moments when I doubted myself, but I kept going.
The day I finally left was both terrifying and liberating. I had no idea what the future held, but I knew I had taken the first step toward reclaiming my life. In the years that followed, I worked tirelessly to rebuild. I went back to school, earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and started selling fashion jewelry to support my family. I also wrote my first book, Mash ‘De Brakes’: You Are in Control, to share my story and inspire other women who might be facing similar challenges.
Reflecting on that challenging period, I now see it as a testament to my resilience. I didn’t just survive—I thrived by transforming my pain into purpose. Through creating journals, digital products, and resources, I aimed to assist others in navigating their journeys. Witnessing clients’ faces light up as they hold their finished product or achieve a personal breakthrough continually reminds me of how far I’ve come and underscores the profound power of resilience.
