Hi Jai, thanks for joining us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
I’d Say I Learned The Most By Watching The Artist/Rappers Who Came Before Me. Studying The Crafts & Careers, Of The Artist I Looked Up to The Most. I Think Paying More Attention to The Business Side of Things Could’ve Sped Up My Learning Process. I Think The Lack of Understanding The Business Stood in The Way of Me Learning More. I’d Say Learned to Record My Own Music was Definitely The Most Essential Skill I Learned.

My Name is Jai Imani, I’m 31 Years Old & I’m A Independent Rapper From St. Louis Missouri. I’ve Been Making & Releasing Music For 12 Years Now But I’d Say I Got Into The Industry About 5/6 Years Ago. I Am Also The CEO of My Own Record Label “Making All Creations Life” with a Roster of Over 15 Artist/Creatives. What I Think Sets Me Apart From Others is My Vulnerability & Emotion I Show Through My Music. I’m Most Proud of The Streaming Success I’ve Gained Over The Past 3 Years or So. Something I Want Potential Fans to Know is That Never Wanted to Be The Richest Rapper or The Most Successful, I’ve Always Wanted to Be THE BEST & I Hope From Listening to My Music The People Will Be Able to Realize I’m Really Good At It!
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For Me It’s When Total Strangers Come Up to Me & Tell Me They Listen To And Connect with My Music. I Essentially Make My Music As A Way For Me to Vent So The Fact The Things I’m Talking About Connect to Others is Always Amazing!
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
This is Actually a Great Question Because I’m Currently Rebuilding My Instagram After Losing My Account That Had Almost 7,000 Organic Followers. But Self Promotion is The Key! Use The Tools They Give You, Pay For Ads (They Work!) & Just Push Content That Relates to Your Message & The Audience You’re Trying to Attract. Remain Patient, Everyone Doesn’t Go Viral Overnight..The Numbers Will Come
