Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jacqueline Crank Owner Of JckiGlam. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Jacqueline Crank thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
I started my makeup journey shortly after having my first daughter, who is six now. Becoming a mom shifted everything for me my confidence, my identity, and how I saw myself. Makeup became my outlet. It helped me reconnect with who I was and reminded me that I was still me, not just “mom.”
At some point, I had this thought: If makeup can make me feel this good, why not help other women feel the same way? And honestly, I didn’t overthink it I just jumped in.
I began taking clients immediately, even bridal parties, without really knowing the business side of makeup. I didn’t fully understand sanitation, product placement, color theory, or proper skin prep at first. I learned in real time, as I went. People trusted me with their faces and their special moments, and that trust is something I’m still deeply grateful for.
In the beginning, I reached out to other artists for guidance, but many turned me down. That was discouraging, but it didn’t stop me. I had a few friends who let me work on them nonstop, and they became my practice canvas while I perfected my craft. From 2019 to 2023, I was completely self-taught. Eventually, I decided to invest in a mentor and that was one of the best decisions I ever made. My work elevated, my confidence grew, and my understanding of makeup as a true profession deepened.
Makeup has never been a hobby for me. It’s my profession and my purpose. My goal has always been to make people feel beautiful, relaxed, and seen. When clients come to me, it’s more than just a glam appointment it’s a safe space. A place to unwind, to breathe, to talk, to laugh, and even to praise God. JckiGlam isn’t just makeup; it’s an experience people come back to for every milestone and moment.
The journey hasn’t been linear. I went through multiple business names, took nearly a two-year break, and at one point truly believed I wasn’t getting anywhere. I lost confidence in myself and my business, not realizing that inconsistency was what was holding me back. In many ways, I was my own obstacle.
In 2024, I worked in a salon and absolutely loved it, but due to life circumstances, I had to step away. I was heartbroken. Then God realigned me right back to that same salon AutumnLeavesBeauty and I truly believe that was a blessing tied to obedience and trust.
After having my son in August 2025, I restarted my business again. It felt like starting from scratch: rebuilding content, showing up consistently, and regaining trust with an audience I had gone silent on. But this time, I’m moving differently. I’m letting God lead fully, and I’m committed to staying consistent no matter how uncomfortable it gets.
This journey hasn’t been easy, but I’m not stopping. I’m building more than a business I’m building a legacy. I know everything happens for a reason, and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for JckiGlam and the women I’m called to serve.

Jacqueline Crank, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Jackie, a professional makeup artist and the founder of JckiGlam. I got into the beauty industry during a very personal season of my life shortly after becoming a mother. Makeup became more than just enhancing my appearance; it helped restore my confidence and reconnect me with myself. That personal transformation is what inspired me to turn makeup into a career and a space where others could feel the same empowerment.
I entered the industry by jumping in headfirst. I was self-taught for several years, learning through practice, real clients, and constant self-education. Over time, I invested in professional mentorship and training, which elevated both my artistry and my understanding of makeup as a true profession. I’m committed to continual learning and growth, because beauty evolves and so should the artist.
Through JckiGlam, I provide professional makeup services for everyday glam, special events, and milestone moments, including bridal and group bookings. My services go beyond applying makeup they focus on proper skin prep, color matching, sanitation, and techniques that enhance natural beauty while still allowing my clients to feel like themselves.
The main problem I solve for my clients is confidence. Many people come to me feeling overwhelmed, rushed, or unsure of how to look or feel their best for an important moment. I create a calm, welcoming environment where they can relax, unwind, and trust the process. My goal is for every client to leave not only looking beautiful, but feeling confident, seen, and taken care of.
What sets me apart is that I treat makeup as an experience, not just a service. JckiGlam is a safe space a place where conversations are genuine, faith is welcome, and clients can truly be present. I take the time to understand each face, each story, and each need. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all glam; every look is intentional and customized.
I’m most proud of my resilience and my growth. I’ve built this brand through seasons of learning, setbacks, breaks, and restarts and I’m still standing. I’m proud that clients trust me with some of their most important moments and continue to return because they feel the difference in how they’re treated.
What I want potential clients and supporters to know is that JckiGlam is rooted in purpose. This isn’t just about makeup trends or social media it’s about service, consistency, and creating an environment where people feel beautiful, relaxed, and valued. I’m building a brand with intention, guided by faith, and focused on long-term impact and legacy.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One moment in my journey that truly reflects my resilience was when I stepped away from my business for nearly two years. At the time, I felt like I was putting in so much effort but not seeing the results I expected. My bookings slowed, my confidence faded, and I started questioning whether I was truly meant to be in this industry. Instead of pushing through, I allowed doubt to take over and I went quiet both online and within my business.
That break wasn’t easy. Watching time pass while feeling stuck was painful, especially knowing how much I loved what I did. But that season forced me to reflect, heal, and be honest with myself. I realized that my lack of progress wasn’t a lack of talent or purpose it was a lack of consistency and belief. I had been standing in my own way.
What shows my resilience is that I came back.
I returned with a deeper understanding of myself, my craft, and my purpose. I invested in education, sought mentorship, and committed to showing up even when it felt uncomfortable. I rebuilt my confidence, my client base, and my relationship with my work.
Another defining moment was becoming a mother again and restarting my business afterward. Starting over while navigating postpartum life required strength, patience, and faith. I had to rebuild trust with my audience after disappearing, reintroduce myself, and accept that growth wouldn’t be instant.
Through it all, I chose not to quit. I learned to move forward with intention, guided by faith, and grounded in purpose. That season taught me that resilience isn’t about never stopping it’s about having the courage to start again, wiser and stronger than before.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was the belief that talent alone would carry me forward. In the beginning, I thought that if I was good at what I did, the success would naturally follow. And at first, it did people were booking, trusting me, and recommending me. That early validation made me believe skill was enough.
Over time, I learned that talent without consistency, discipline, and structure can only take you so far.
As my life shifted becoming a mother, navigating personal challenges, and wearing multiple hats I began showing up less. I wasn’t consistent with my content, my communication, or my visibility. When bookings slowed, I internalized it as failure instead of recognizing what was really happening. I started doubting myself, comparing my journey to others, and eventually stepped away from my business altogether for nearly two years.
That season forced me to unlearn the idea that stepping back meant I wasn’t meant for this. I had to release the belief that breaks equal failure and that restarting meant starting over at zero. In reality, I was returning with more wisdom, skill, and clarity than I had before.
Another lesson I had to unlearn was doing everything alone. I used to believe asking for help was a weakness, especially after being turned down by others early in my career. Eventually, I invested in mentorship and education, and that decision transformed my business. It taught me that growth requires community, guidance, and humility.
Unlearning these beliefs changed how I move today. I now understand that success is built through consistency, obedience, and alignment not just talent. I show up differently, with intention and faith, trusting that every season has a purpose. That mindset shift didn’t just change my business; it changed me.
