We were lucky to catch up with Jack Linzmeyer recently and have shared our conversation below.
Jack, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Who is your hero and why? What lessons have you learned from them and how have they influenced your journey?
My hero is definitely my dad. He has always been a constant source of strength and inspiration to me. What stands out most about him is his incredible resilience—no matter what challenges he faces, he always finds a way to persevere with a positive attitude and perspective. His ability to stay optimistic, even during tough times, is something I deeply admire.
What really sets him apart, though, is his innate ability to understand people. He has this remarkable way of connecting with everyone he meets, making them feel heard and valued. It’s no surprise that he’s admired and liked by so many. His kindness and empathy have made a lasting impact on everyone around him.

Jack, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a videographer and creative director originally from Milwaukee, but I recently made the move to Austin about six months ago to further my career in the industry. The vibrant, dynamic culture and the exciting opportunities that Austin has to offer have been a game-changer for me, and I’m now working full-time in the field, collaborating with amazing brands and individuals who share my passion for storytelling through visual media.
My journey into videography and creative direction started with a love for storytelling and a natural curiosity for how things work behind the camera. I began experimenting with video during college and quickly realized that creating visual content was where my true passion lay. From there, I immersed myself in every opportunity I could find—whether it was freelancing, working on set, or experimenting with my own creative projects. Over time, I refined my skills, learned to bring concepts to life visually, and developed my own unique style.
Now, I offer a range of services, from high-quality video production and editing to full creative direction. Whether it’s promotional videos, brand storytelling, music videos, or corporate content, I work closely with clients to create compelling visuals that not only capture attention but also tell an authentic story. My goal is always to create something that resonates with audiences and brings my client’s vision to life in a meaningful way.
One of the things I really enjoy about my work is being able to solve complex creative challenges. Every project presents a new opportunity to think outside the box, whether that’s finding the perfect shot to communicate a brand’s message or developing an engaging narrative that connects with viewers on an emotional level. What sets me apart is my ability to blend creativity with technical precision, ensuring the visuals are not only aesthetically pleasing but also align with the strategic goals of the project.
What I’m most proud of is the progress I’ve made in the past few months since moving to Austin. I’ve had the chance to collaborate with some amazing clients and work on exciting projects that have helped me grow as a creative professional. It’s been a thrilling journey, and I’m excited for what’s to come.
For potential clients or collaborators, I want you to know that I’m committed to bringing your vision to life with passion, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach. I believe in building strong relationships and ensuring that every project we work on together is a true reflection of your brand, message, and goals.
Whether you’re looking to create a standout marketing video, tell a captivating story, or elevate your brand’s visual identity, I’m here to help you make it happen.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What’s really helped me build my reputation in the market is my focus on relationships, not just results. As a videographer, there’s a lot of competition out there, and while technical skills and creativity are important, I believe that fostering genuine connections with my clients is what sets me apart.
From the very beginning, I’ve always prioritized understanding my clients’ needs and visions, and I strive to create a collaborative and open atmosphere. I’m not just there to capture footage or direct a shoot; I’m there to listen, understand their goals, and make sure they feel involved every step of the way. By approaching every project with a mindset of partnership rather than just a transaction, I’ve been able to build trust and long-term relationships.
Instead of focusing on being the “best” in terms of technical skill or style, my focus is on being the best collaborator. I want my clients to feel heard, respected, and comfortable throughout the entire creative process. This approach has allowed me to work with a diverse range of clients—each with unique needs—while maintaining a personal connection that often leads to repeat business and referrals.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
As a videographer, my goal is not just to create compelling videos for clients, but to ultimately evolve into filmmaking, where I can tell larger, more intricate stories through movies.
From the very start, I’ve been captivated by the power of film to move people, to spark emotions, and to open up new perspectives. While creating high-quality videos for brands and businesses has been incredibly rewarding, my long-term mission is to use my skills to craft cinematic experiences that leave a lasting impact on audiences.
The goal I’m working toward is to combine my technical expertise in videography with a deeper, more nuanced understanding of narrative storytelling. I want to grow as a creative director who can take bold risks with storytelling and visual style, and eventually step into the world of filmmaking, where I can create movies that explore complex themes, human experiences, and the things that truly matter.
