We were lucky to catch up with Inez Arevalo recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Inez, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
A Cleaning to Remember provides top to bottom cleanings each visit. This sets us apart from other companies in our area because we include what others charge extra for (changing linens, washing dishes, wiping baseboards and cleaning inside the oven) at an affordable price.
Inez , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I got into the house cleaning business by accident in 2015. I had hired several companies and individuals to clean our home but they could never leave the shower glass spotless, it was still left full of soap scum. I thought a new door was the solution so when searching for a new door online, came across spraying vinegar to clean the door, tried it and it actually worked. That is how the idea to start a company that really cleans – scrubbing toilets without using toilet brushes, wiping blinds and baseboards with microfiber cloths without using dusters came to mind and the company was created. I’m proud to say we have grown to the point that we are now Monday through Sunday to keep up with the demand and cleaning top to bottom without cutting corners. I’m proud that we offer only one top to bottom cleaning package option but most importantly, our prices are reasonable. Clients don’t have to worry about areas being missed, checklist rotations or if their cleaning concerns are being focused on. We get to know the clients and their home and always remind the cleaning technicians to clean as if it were their own home. It’s important that rooms are presentable and areas thoroughly cleaned to give clients peace of mind especially when they’re expecting guests.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
A Cleaning to Remember has several teams of cleaning technicians, with many cars that have the company logo and contact number on the side, visible to everyone passing by. We have many clients on same streets, usually neighbors that see our vehicles parked weekly or biweekly cleaning their next door neighbor’s home. The vehicles bring us attention and clients. Word of mouth is also a top source of new clients for us. Our clients recommend us to their neighbors, friends and relatives and use Next Door application to refer us.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
A Cleaning to Remember has the reputation for leaving shower glass doors and inside ovens spotless. We get calls that mention seeing our before & after pictures and that’s why they call us. Usually the ovens and shower glass doors need thorough cleanings that other companies do not spend their time on nor have the proper cleaning supplies to clean them. Referrals from satisfied clients and actually seeing our work helped build our reputation.
