We recently connected with Imani Swanson and have shared our conversation below.
Imani, appreciate you joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
It’s actually a funny story; when I started styling people in college through my modeling group, Lethal Allure, at Savannah State University, people always used to say that when I styled people it always looked like something I would wear. So, one day I was talking to my mother contemplating names for my business because I wanted something that would stick. As we were talking, at the same time we said LooksLikeMani! It’s a double entendre of my nickname “Mani” and the word “money”

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am just a girl from the Southside of Atlanta, Georgia. I always loved clothes, so getting into fashion wasn’t that hard for me lol! I got into the business because I love how putting on clothes can exude a person’s personality without even saying words. I try to maintain humble in an industry that can be very competitive and could also seem not really essential to a person that doesn’t understand what wardrobe stylists actually do. I love everything about fashion and will continue to keep my clients happy.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being able to make my client’s feel good when I am styling them. Seeing the look on their faces and receiving positive feedback everytime I put a look together that exudes their personality and mine!

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best way for me to reach clientele is promoting my business on social media heavily and remaining loyal to my loyal clients that also recommend me to others as well.
