Hesok, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
I am very happy as a business owner. I did at times think that maybe I should work for someone else but then I was like NO! Having to meet deadlines, adhere to the company rules and so forth was just not my thing anymore. Being able to be on my time and spend all the time I want with my family is priceless! At the normal 9-5 I had to request time off and hope it got approved. Now I’m able to go wherever and whenever I please, I’m on my own time now and I’m loving it!
Hesok, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a wife and a mother. I’ve been married to my amazing husband for 16 yrs and have a 7yr old son I adore! I started doing events when my friend asked me to help with her wedding. At the time she was stressing out and overwhelmed and asked me to assist and I was happy to! Who would want to be stressed out on the most beautiful day of their life? No one right?! So I helped my friend and her fiancé with the wedding coordination, decor set up and breakdown, called all their vendors so they knew where to be at what time, and once I did that one wedding I was hooked and I am here today running my own event planning business. I remember when I had one of our bride’s that forgot her garter on her wedding day so I did what any great planner would do I went to the nearest bridal store and bought her a garter. I didn’t want her disappointed about not being able to do the garter toss so I made sure she had one. The bride was so happy and thankful! My company to me is different from the others because I want to hear what you want from me as your planner. I want to know your vision, what your hopes are for your special day, I love to take the time to just listen because this gives me the insight to the couple and I am able to get to know them.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The Knot is what truly helped me build my clientele. I did a lot of advertising on Instagram and Facebook but wasn’t getting the results I wanted so I researched. I found out about storefronts knew nothing about it so I contacted The Knot and got a storefront and the rest is history!

I usually check on them here and there to see how they are doing. I have enjoyed every moment that I got to create weddings for the most amazing client’s and I like to make sure that we keep a special bond even after their weddings or events.
