We were lucky to catch up with Heather Fraley recently and have shared our conversation below.
Heather, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
I took a massive risk deciding to change careers and enter into the film industry. I took this risk because I knew I was supposed to do so much more than what I was doing and that it would change my daughter and my lives forever if I worked hard enough for us.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Thank you for reaching out to me for this interview, I am honored to have been asked again. I started my career in film as an extra in films and tv shows. I took every opportunity paid and unpaid to be on set so I could absorb and learn every aspect of filmmaking from acting to directing, every detail I could take in I used for learning material and knowledge in this industry. I am a self taught actress and now business owner of two film productions and an international film festival with Fraley Productions and fear fame productions (co owner with Joe Furnari) we are blessed to be award winning filmmakers and now expanding from not just Florida but to Georgia. We have 4 feature films being released in 2026. Hunters cabin flesh & blood, love thy neighbor, blood money and blood money vengeance.
How’d you meet your business partner?
I met one of my business partners, Joe Furnari during a casting call for his first film. I was a brand new actress and he did not select me, 3 months later I had accumulated more than 30 IMDb film credits and he decided to take another look at me and asked me to attend a meeting and do another casting call. I have been a lead actress in all of his films since and became his business partner in 2023 for fear fame productions.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I worked every film job offered, my first year of acting was fully unpaid. I paid to travel and I worked nonstop on learning everything I could about acting as well as filmmaking. Working 7 days a week 22 hour days most of the time and refusing to give up. It felt hopeless and insane the majority of the time, however I kept going with the mindset that I’m paying my dues and all my hard work will eventually pay off. I’m blessed to announce that it truly has and I am living my dream in film as well my daughter is also inspired in film, even directing and writing her first short film 2 years ago when she was only 8 years old. This has been an incredible 4 year journey that I am determined to continue to grow and embrace.
