We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Gretchen Pleshaw a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Gretchen, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I hope through using my platform of TV, Radio, Motivational Speaking and Modeling. I am able to spread positive energy and happiness to others. I truly hope I leave a legacy of people smiling when they think about me because life is truly meant to be enjoyed. I have been through some very hard and intense things (like we all have)but at the end of the day you have to find (even in the darkest times) the beauty and the light.
Gretchen, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I went to CU Boulder when I was 17 years old. I remember a photographer came up to me and asked if he could take some pictures of me. I’ve always been really tall (I’m six foot tall) and from that photographer* a career was born. It was pretty serendipitous and really cool the way the universe had a plan for me and one that I never Imagined doing. I did modeling in college while studying to be a teacher for deaf children and then graduating with an English degree. I then moved to Denver and kept on modeling for national and international magazines as well as walking in variois runway shows. I also started doing TV for commercials and then got picked up to do three of my own TV shows out of Colorado. I have been a TV show host and had some smaller roles in a couple films shot in Atlanta, New York and Los Angeles. I now Live in Vail Colorado and work on the radio as one of the voices of The LIFT FM on three different radio station KKCH, KIFT and KIDN and do TV for various media companies out here as well. I get to Interview athletes from the XGames around the world and the Dew Tour and other various sporting events. I also get to interview actors and actresses and musicians. I feel very blessed and grateful to get to do what I love every day. Especially during the pandemic I just tried to make people smile and laugh and find the joy during the darker times. That is my ultimate goal to help people see the light and be happy daily!
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I truly believe clients can see and feel the joy in what I do. I truly love what I do and that makes them excited to work with me.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I love trying to make people happy and bringing joy to them whether it’s through TV or radio.
