We were lucky to catch up with Gregg Marsi & George Dasinger recently and have shared our conversation below.
Gregg & George, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
To be successful to us means having consistent product and customer service, and having a quality product. We seek to go above and beyond to meet our customers expectations. We strive to always push boundaries and keep creating better and thoughtful products.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We are the Yakitori boyz and we started off in the pandemic when we lost our jobs. We started off in a car rental parking lot in wynwood. It was just and idea to kill the time. While cooking up for friends and family it just slowly blossomed into becoming our passion project. Those who knew about it knew about it, we barley promoted it for the first 6 months. Slowly it has grown into where we are today. What sets us apart from others is that we strive to keep everything In house. From using local Farms and produce to having friends and family help us out cooking and running the register.
We are most proud of the the community for supporting us and enjoying our food.

How’d you meet your business partner?
George and Gregg met as like cooks at kyu miami. Cooking side by side Raheem Sealy, we’d share stories on starting in the industry and finding out we had a lot of similarities. Any chance we got to crest something like for family meal it always was inspired to what would lead into Yakitori and Japanese inspired tapas.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Creating a safe fun and equal work environment is key. Also kitchen life has changed a lot in the past few years. There non of that chaos and yelling and screaming to one another. That doesn’t work in the long run. We’re very hands on with the staff and open minded, we like to allow team members to have a safe creative space for them to cook and create new things.
