We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Greg Marinelli a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Greg, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
Designwise was born out of a simple yet profound idea: to transform the typical dental experience, which can often be anxiety-inducing for patients, into a seamless, personalized, and comforting journey. I recognized that for many people, visiting the dentist was something to dread. From uncomfortable waiting rooms to rushed appointments, the typical dental office didn’t prioritize the emotional and psychological comfort of patients. So, we set out to do things differently.
Creating a Concierge Experience in Dentistry
At Designwise, we don’t just focus on dental care; we focus on the overall patient experience. From the moment a patient walks through the door, we treat them like a guest in a luxurious, well-appointed space rather than just another appointment on the schedule.
The design of the office plays a crucial role in this approach. Inspired by the best practices of luxury hotel design, the office is designed to feel more like a high-end spa than a traditional dental clinic. Soft lighting, soothing music, and comfortable seating all help to create an environment that promotes relaxation. In fact, we’ve carefully curated every detail to ensure that patients feel as though they are receiving care in an upscale, worry-free environment.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Certainly! I’m Greg Marinelli, the founder of Designwise, a company that’s transforming the dental experience by blending cutting-edge design, personalized service, and advanced technology to create a unique, concierge-level dental experience.
How I Got Into the Industry
My journey into the dental field was not conventional. Before Designwise, I had a background in hospitality design, where I learned the importance of creating memorable and emotionally resonant experiences. Working in the luxury hotel industry, I quickly realized that customer service and environment played a huge role in the overall guest experience. This got me thinking: why shouldn’t we apply the same principles of personalized care and comfort to industries outside of hospitality, like healthcare?
The dental industry, in particular, seemed like a perfect place to innovate. Dental anxiety is a widespread issue, and it’s something that often gets overlooked. From my perspective, creating a space where patients feel safe, cared for, and valued could not only reduce stress but also foster trust, loyalty, and better overall outcomes. So, I decided to combine my passion for design, my background in hospitality, and my desire to make a meaningful impact to create Designwise.
What We Provide: A Concierge-Level Dental Experience
At Designwise, we don’t just offer dental design services—we offer a complete, concierge-style experience. We’ve created a dental design firm that prioritizes patient comfort, personalization, and a luxurious yet approachable environment. Our focus is on providing not just exceptional dental care, but also a holistic, anxiety-free experience that’s grounded in a patient-first philosophy.
What Makes Us Unique
Patient-Centered Design: Every aspect of a practice, from the waiting area to the treatment rooms, is designed to make patients feel relaxed and valued. We’ve taken cues from high-end resorts, creating an atmosphere that blends luxury with healthcare, ensuring that patients experience the utmost comfort from start to finish.
The Problems We Solve
Dental Anxiety: A major challenge for many people is fear of going to the dentist. By creating a luxurious, spa-like atmosphere and focusing on personalized care, we reduce the stress and fear that many associate with dental visits.
Lack of Personalized Care: In traditional dental offices, patients can sometimes feel like they’re just another number. At Designwise, we believe that dental care should be as much about emotional comfort as it is about clinical treatment.
What Sets Us Apart
What really sets Designwise apart is our unwavering commitment to creating a holistic, personalized experience for the patients. It’s not just about providing dental care—it’s about ensuring that every step of the process is as stress-free, comfortable, and pleasant as possible. We’ve redefined what a dental visit can be, combining the best of healthcare with the exceptional service you’d expect from a luxury concierge experience.
While many offices focus primarily on the technical aspects of care, we place just as much emphasis on the emotional and psychological well-being of patients. By combining thoughtful design, top-tier customer service, and cutting-edge technology, we’re able to address both the clinical and emotional needs of patients.
What I’m Most Proud Of
I’m most proud of the trust and loyalty we’ve built with our clients and industry partners. When people walk into a Designwise dental space, they don’t just experience excellent dental care; they experience a shift in how they think about visiting the dentist. We’ve made the dental visit feel like a part of their self-care routine, not a dreaded task to check off the list.
I’m also proud of how we’ve managed to grow our business by staying true to our core value—creating incredible spaces geared to produce results. The positive feedback, referrals, and growing community of satisfied clients are a testament to the impact we’ve had on the lives of those we serve.
What Potential Clients Should Know
For those considering Designwise, we want you to know that your experience with us will be unlike anything you’ve encountered at a traditional design firm. We go above and beyond to make sure you feel valued, understood, and relaxed throughout the entire process.
If you’re looking for a dental practice that combines luxury with personalized care, cutting-edge technology, and a true focus on your well-being, we would love to welcome you to Designwise.
At Designwise, we believe that dental care is about more than just your teeth—it’s about your overall health and happiness. That’s the experience we provide, and we couldn’t be prouder of the work we’re doing to change the way people view dental care.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
Absolutely, one thing I believe non-creatives might struggle to understand about my journey as a creative in the design world is the emotional and psychological investment that goes into the work. While many might see design simply as a “visual” or “aesthetic” endeavor, for creatives like myself, it’s so much more than just making things “look good.” There’s a deep, personal connection to the work that goes beyond the physical or tangible outcome.
When designing a dental office, for example, I’m not just choosing colors, furniture, or layouts. Every decision is deeply rooted in understanding how people will feel in that space. I often find myself putting myself in the shoes of both the patients and the dental team. Will the lighting create a sense of calm for a nervous patient? Will the layout facilitate smooth interactions between the team while keeping the patient’s experience at the forefront? These nuances require an emotional intelligence and empathy that non-creatives might not always see.
Another aspect non-creatives might not fully grasp is the invisible nature of the creative process. Many people see the end result—a beautifully designed office or a cohesive brand image—and think it came together effortlessly or quickly. What they don’t see is the countless hours of research, trial and error, iteration, and sometimes failure that go into arriving at a design solution. There are many moments of frustration, self-doubt, and uncertainty along the way, but those are the moments that fuel growth and lead to a stronger final product.
The emotional labor of creativity also involves the vulnerability of sharing ideas and concepts that are deeply personal. As a designer, you’re often putting a part of yourself into every project, which makes it a unique challenge when your work is critiqued or not received as expected. But it’s through this vulnerability that we grow as creatives. This is something non-creatives may not immediately understand—the emotional highs and lows that are tied to each design decision.
Finally, there’s the invisible impact of design—the fact that a well-designed space can have a profound impact on how people feel, behave, and interact, even if they don’t consciously realize it. For non-creatives, the idea that design can reduce anxiety or encourage positive behavioral change may seem abstract, but for someone in the creative field, it’s an incredibly powerful tool. Seeing how my work can transform a patient’s experience or a business’s success is deeply rewarding, but it’s also something that requires constant awareness of the human element in design.
I think the takeaway here is that creativity is not just about making things look good—it’s about understanding people, solving problems, and balancing function, emotion, and aesthetics in ways that often can’t be easily explained. That’s the beauty of being a creative: the journey is as important as the destination.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
We’ve chosen to specialize in dental office design, which has allowed us to become experts in that field. This niche focus has helped us stand out from general design firms and position Designwise as the go-to brand for dental office transformations. By deeply understanding the unique needs of dental professionals and the patient experience, we’ve been able to craft tailored solutions that other firms may not offer. This specialization has led to more referrals from clients who know we can speak to the unique challenges of their industry and provide solutions that enhance both aesthetics and functionality.
