Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Green grove cabin Landscape artist. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Green grove cabin , thanks for joining us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
Thank you for this opportunity and to everyone reading for their time.
I think I started like all children playing with pencils and crayons, experimenting with different media until I arrived at painting. Since I eagerly studied art through many art books and dedicated magazines, the only thing that maybe would have been useful to have a broader vision is to attend at artistic university for a more scholastic preparation even if what I was looking for was less academic so the drawing courses I attended were enough to gave me what I needed.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Since ever passionate about literary narrative and visual art languages I always had interest in various art forms besides the paint such as theatre, poetry and classical music up to the most modern form of arts (I will also talk about digital art soon). I love to explore in my art the spiritual and healing power of nature throught a classical, profound but naive gaze using a playful and modern approach with illustrative resonances that can create a deep, sincere bond with the painting and the viewer. Looking for continuous improvement in visual rendering and narrative solutions i like to convey moods that can be easily recognizable by everyone: a wooden cabin in a snowy forest generates a sense of quiet and cozyness, a leaf covering an ant from raindrops generates relief and security, a woman peering through the fog at the ruins of an ancient civilization evokes a sense of melancholy and belonging.
The idea of present my works and insert them into a social networking mechanism is very fresh: little more than a year ago i thought that while I will enjoy painting and sharing the results of my work on a web platform I will eventually could create a web of connections with art enthusiast, and why not potential customers interested in purchase some of my works or products related to them (like prints or calendars for example). The Instagram networking platform it seemed the right choice where the artistic community is very alive and pulsating. I’m still in learning process not used to this but i see excellent possibilities of development of various projects and ideas that I have in mind, this is also thanks to online sales platforms like Etsy which allow you to offer your products in a global showcase.
I mentioned digital art because not long ago I opened a second profile dedicated to digital illustrations, a creative laboratory in which I push myself to experiment with a new media that is completely different but not completely unknown to me. There I enjoy creating illustrations, visual novels and whimsical characters. There are great possibilities there as well because digital art is flexible for various projects such as illustrated books or gadgets for example.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to inspire positive attitudes and thankfulness feelings with elegance, playfulness and a touch of poetry through an art more oriented towards narrative that can tell something emotional overcoming the barrier of a merely aesthetic concept of a canvas hanging on a wall or framed on a table. In my vision an artwork not only embellish our special and cozy space but can also tell a story, bring healing perceptions tuning our own intellectual and spiritual vision with our surrounding environment to help us live better that space.
On the basis of what has been said so far born the concept of a welcoming wooden cabin (inspired by one of my old paintings), a humble but elegant and cozy point of reference for weary travelers looking for refuge from everyday life or simple curious wanderers passing through my peaceful green grove. In it they can find hospitality and unpretentious but original art, eventually a bit creative and reflexive.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Basically they are two: the process that led me to the creation of a work and the attention of the viewers to the salient elements in my works. The process is a real adventure and is made up of intuitions, ideas but also experiments and mistakes so you don’t always know which path it will take and in the end seeing people observing closer the profound meaning of it through the attentive observation makes me proud because this way they are able really enjoy the image going beyond materiality. This is in fact what I love about art, through its evocative power can transport you in a place not necessary real but that evokes in you feelings or even memories.
My creative process in fact usually begins through an inner path (almost spiritual) of connection with my insight and feelings. A sort of dialogue between me and nature, between pencil and paper, between brush and color, between poetry and music. I contemplate the wonder of creation exploring the power of narrative inspired by an eager search to discover possibilities not always permitted by reality, like a particular conformation of some natural elements or the interaction of entities with each other in a certain way for give the right space to imagination too.
A landscape is an introspective journey, every path I paint is not just illustrative and every forest I illustrate is a real walk in the green. As soon as I place the brush on the surface a new adventure begins and I feel like an explorer traveling aimlessly in a dream. This is why each of my paintings is a story in itself. Even if human or animal figures not appear often, those enchanted places tell very much also with the silence or with the rustle of the gentle breeze among the leaves, the pouring of the rain in a forest, the buzzing of the insects in the flowery fields. The wonder of nature that I try to capture through my vision.
Lately I’ve been focusing on experimenting new visual techniques more loose and implementing new ideas more creative because art is also this, a laboratory of insight and a place to try them out by playing with colors. This is also a satisfying aspect of art, because it keeps us constantly in creative motion.
