Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Frantinique Finn. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Frantinique, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
I recently planned my own Comedy Showcase this year for Cinco De Mayo! I found the venue, DJ and even designed the flyer. I had to take the risk of the event not doing well but I thank God that it was success fun and a lot of fun! It left me feeling inspired and like I can accomplish anything I put my mind too.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a Host/ Comedian and how I became a comedian is that I have always enjoyed laughing, having fun, and being in good spirits! I grew up watching Comic View, Def Comedy Jam, and the Dave Chapelle Show to name a few and it inspired me to want to do Stand Up Comedy. I begin doing comedy in 2017 and have enjoyed it ever since. I also enjoy being behind the scenes by editing my Stand Up performances for my YouTube channel. The thing that I am most proud of is that no matter what I kept going with my comedic career and have now added more cities to my resume! The thing that set me apart from other comics is that I recognize the connection of comedy and music and I work that into my comedy sets.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
One thing non-creatives and some creatives may not understand is that I am not a huge fan of social media. Social media can be just as detrimental as it can be helpful. Over time I have grown to like the social sites more. I have learned how to ignore negatives interactions and use social media more as a business networking tool and for promotion. I also have to keep in mind that social media is only real to a certain extent and that the real world is where real emotions, thoughts, and feelings are. Social media gives you a chance to paint a picture and its up to you the picture you paint; you also don’t have to accept the image that social media may paint of you with the negative comments or direct messages.

Have you ever had to pivot?
In 2021 I started back doing comedy as often as I could. I went from barely doing it to going to Open Mic Nights every week. This was already a busy time for me because I was working full time, operating my business, and coaching competitive cheerleading. I still found time to write jokes, practice, and perform at Open Mic Nights. Doing stand up every week or every other week helped me to perform in other cities and states. I feel like my comedic career is on the rise and it’s only up from here!
