We were lucky to catch up with Francesca Delisle recently and have shared our conversation below.
Francesca, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
I started this business in full pursuit mode. I had the idea, and then I ran with it. I pushed, I chased, I forced doors open. I operated in a very masculine energy at the beginning, always moving, always solving, always trying to make the next thing happen. My focus was on execution and money. I believed that if I could generate enough momentum and enough revenue, that would validate the vision.
And that season served a purpose. It got the business off the ground. It taught me grit. It taught me how to lead under pressure. But it also revealed something important: when money becomes the only key, you can build something fast without fully building it true.
What has changed everything for me is that I no longer lead that way alone. I still have drive, but now I’m building from a much more feminine place, from intuition, alignment, trust, and deeper purpose. I’m listening more. I’m forcing less. I’m allowing the mission to lead.
Ironically, that shift is what created the real growth. The moment I stopped building only to prove something and started building in alignment with what the business was truly here to do, everything expanded. The vision became clearer, the movement became stronger, and the right opportunities began to meet me.
So the story of how I launched my business is really also the story of how I evolved as a founder. I began with force, but I am growing through alignment. And that shift has been the catapult.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I built MySyde out of a need I experienced firsthand.
For more than 10 years, I worked as a personal chef, and like many entrepreneurs, I was constantly trying to solve the same problem: how do I get my business directly in front of the people who are most likely to buy from me? I wanted to work locally. I wanted people in my town to be able to find me. But the tools that were supposed to help businesses be visible often felt disconnected from the reality of running a local business. Social media algorithms changed constantly, followers did not always see what I posted, and many of the people in my audience were not even nearby.
I realized there was no real place dedicated to helping local businesses connect directly with local buyers in a meaningful, consistent way.
That realization led to the creation of MySyde.
MySyde is a hyperlocal platform designed to make it easier for people to discover and connect with what is around them, whether that is local businesses, services, events, or experiences. More importantly, it is designed to help local businesses be seen by the people closest to them, the people most likely to become customers, supporters, and long-term community connections.
What makes MySyde different is that it was not created to chase trends. It was created to solve a real problem. It is rooted in the belief that local businesses deserve better tools, local communities deserve stronger connection, and people should be able to discover what they need close to home.
I often say we are building more than an app. We are building a movement, one centered around connection, community, and local visibility. We want to help businesses communicate with their real local buyer. We want to help communities thrive by making local discovery easier, more relational, and more intentional.
What I am most proud of is that MySyde was built from lived experience, vision, and a genuine desire to create something that serves both businesses and communities in a deeper way. This is work I care deeply about, because I know what it feels like to need a better way to be found.
What I want potential clients, followers, and partners to know is that MySyde is purpose-led. It is thoughtful. It is community-centered. And it was created to bring people, businesses, and neighborhoods back into closer connection with one another.
To me, that is the future of local.
Do you have multiple revenue streams – if so, can you talk to us about those streams and how your developed them?
Yes, we do. Right now, our revenue streams are centered on kiosks and advertising. Both are designed to help local businesses gain visibility and connect more directly with their local community. Together, they create a strong foundation for growth, with a subscription model planned as a future layer of the business.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been a mix of consistency, relationship-building, and strategic connection. I kept showing up, I kept talking to people, and I kept sharing the vision. As I stayed committed, I also became more intentional about asking trusted connectors for support. One introduction led to another, and over time those connections led me to a small handful of truly meaningful relationships. Those relationships have helped shape where we are today. We are now working with a team to help spread the word, and we have powerful people aligned with us who genuinely believe in the vision and are helping us expand our reach. That has created a different level of momentum, and now when we walk into a room, more people are listening.
