We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Falling Giant. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Gaetano below.
Falling Giant, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
One of the most significant projects we worked on was our first major concert, when Falling Giant opened for Three Days Grace during a stop on their European tour. After honing our craft in the underground scene of Rome, self-producing all of our music and creative content, we were finally given the opportunity to perform in front of an audience of over five thousand people in Bucharest.
This experience was an enormous challenge, not only because it was our first big stage, but also because, just days before the event, the original lineup dissolved. I, Ethan Mars (Gaetano Marsico), and our guitarist, Luke Rose (Luca Sebastianelli), found ourselves faced with a tough decision: cancel the concert or find replacement members in record time. We chose the braver path, and after lightning-fast auditions, we managed to form a new lineup.
That show became pivotal for us because it was on that very day that the current lineup of the band was born: me on vocals, Luke Rose on lead guitar, Black7Ale (Alessandro Caponera) on guitar, Laura (Laura Candela) on bass, and Hell-S (Lorenzo Sorà) on drums. That night marked the beginning of our true musical journey, after years of hard work and sacrifice in the Roman underground scene.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
For those who haven’t heard of us yet, let me introduce you to Falling Giant. We are far more than just a band; we are a true hub of artistic exploration, constantly pushing the boundaries of creativity. Our music and vision are driven by three core principles: elegance, darkness, and sensuality.
Elegance is something deeply embedded in us, especially due to our Italian roots, which have shaped our appreciation for both visual and cultural beauty. This element is reflected in everything we create. Darkness symbolizes our fascination with the complexities and mysteries of the human experience—the internal struggles and ‘demons’ we all face. Lastly, sensuality, the most vital and life-affirming force, flows through all of our creative work, giving it emotional depth and intensity.
While our primary medium is music, our inspiration knows no boundaries. We find it in literature, visual arts, and in every experience life brings. Our goal is to craft something that resonates deeply, not just musically, but also emotionally and artistically. What sets us apart is this unique blend of influences and our relentless pursuit of meaning in everything we do.
What I’m most proud of is our ability to transform our individual and shared experiences into something not only beautiful but also thought-provoking. If there’s one thing we want people to know, it’s that we are always evolving, and everything we create reflects our core values of elegance, darkness, and sensuality.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Our goal has always been clear from the very beginning of this project. If we had to describe an image of where we see ourselves in a few months, it would be backstage at a massive event like Rock in Rio, with our hearts racing and the crowd chanting our name: “Falling Giant! Falling Giant!”. We’ve always dreamed big, and we work tirelessly every day to turn that dream into reality.
At the heart of our mission is the desire to live for creation and to inspire others through our artistic journey and talent. We have always been big dreamers, and we want to encourage others to dream with the same boldness, reminding them that if no one else believes in them, we are here to support them. We believe in creating art that deeply connects with people, pushing them to pursue their passions, just as we will always pursue ours.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
The most challenging yet exciting aspect of an artistic career is convincing others that what you create has value. And it’s far from easy. Especially now, in a disposable market where quality often takes a back seat to virtual numbers and intangible trends, and where it takes an enormous investment just to be noticed.
It’s a brutal, cutthroat industry, but we firmly believe that things can return to something more tangible and real. Every “no” we’ve received, every tear shed after doors slammed in our faces following years of hard work, has never discouraged us—and it never will. Instead, it has always pushed us to give our best and get back on track, stronger than before.
Most importantly, you must never be afraid of seeming awkward, out of place, or excessive. Embracing these risks is key to staying true to who you are and to the art you create.
