We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Fairy Boy. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Fairy Boy below.
Fairy Boy, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
Before i started making all my own visual my friends Hyperjuice and bassmemory had made my previous single cover arts for me and they were nice enough to do it all for free at the time which i am forever grateful but thats not something i could do all the time cause they both deserve to be paid for their art. It was basically out of necessity that i started to learn how to make my own things in blender. I just have a hard time focusing on things especially tutorials so i really had to force myself to pay attention if I really wanted to learn the Blender software. luckily theres this artist named Ducky3D on youtube who post super short tutorial that are easy to follow and i was able work on my skills that way..

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I still describe myself as a Graphic Design artist even though i don’t have a degree in it or anything I’m all self taught. I mostly do cover art for people or visuals like flyers, lyric videos, Spotify canvas, etc. I make a lot of things mostly for friends or people i already know but Im able to work with anyone if i find its something i’m able to deliver. For musicians its very important to have visuals that represent what you’re trying to say and thats where i think I’m able to make someones visions come to life. I’m always so proud of when the person that commissions me is happy with the product I end up showing them. The amount of artist I’ve been able to work with through my art is something I’m always grateful for.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Yeah just this last year after working as an artist full time i had to go back to being a sales associate and had to stop doing any freelanig cause it just go to the point where it was alot of work piled on top for such little money. it was honestly something i didnt wanna do but when youre an economy and a society that doesnt care about its people well being you truly have to put your health and happiness to the side in order to make a low amount of money to even be able to pay your rent and some food. it was geniunly such a despressing time i just dont ever wanna be in a position where i put what i truly want to do in life in the back burner

How did you build your audience on social media?
The internet and social media is your best friend when it comes to marketing your business. i was already online all the time so pitching my stuff to people who needed it wasn’t as hard cause i already knew what I wanted to deliver. Building a community and having people who are willing to through your name out there is also something people forget. Being nice gets you far.
